Mary Rowntree’s – HartlepoolGood and varied choices on menu Good size portions food well cooked and tasty
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamBooked for a teatime meal on our way to Kinren. I totally recommend this restaurant for family meals. Service and value excellent.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamEasy booking on line, arrived 5pm 5th September 26. We were given a very warm welcome and shown to our table. Drinks order was brought to our table by a very pleasent lady. Food as usual was very good. Supplement charges can get a bit confusing, can add up if the menu is not read carefully. Howerver a good meal, delivered by lovely staff at a very reasonable price. The only thing I'm not too sure about, is how dark the room can be.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamCame for lunch with two friends to celebrate their birthdays. We had a lovely meal- two of us chose tapas and the other, a steak. The menu was extensive; it was difficult to choose and the quality of the food was excellent. The birthday girls were surprised with a free dessert, beautifully presented with a birthday message and a candle. A lovely touch and very much appreciated. The restaurant itself has a really good atmosphere and the staff were attentive and looked after us well. All in all, an excellent experience. We will be back.
Mateo’s – Castle EdenReally enjoyed our dinner with friends. Good range of food to chose from and our choices were excellent. Good vibes and great service.
Mateo’s – Castle EdenMy daughter and I attended the spa. Although it was pleasant, we do not feel it was worth the amount we paid (even with a Groupon voucher!) The staff were friendly and helpful and the massage was wonderful, however the spa lacked the luxurious feel expected, atmosphere and had very basic and minimal facilities. The afternoon tea, again was pleasant, but very basic and not as expected for the amount paid.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonLovely restaurant ❤️staff very friendly ❤️ clean and quirky decor ❤️ food excellent Very busy restaurant did have to wait a rather long time for our starter almost 50 minutes which is my only complaint
The Farmers Arms – DurhamWent with friends after a recommendation from a close friend. Lovely pub by our table there was a sofa behind us which everyone including the staff had to squeeze past was totally in the wrong place. The food was lovely, it was a very long wait from starter to main course, the soup was exactly 7 spoonfuls, more of a child’s portion than an adults, but the main courses were perfect cooked and hot but nearly everything had a supplement on if you had 2 or 3 courses and that spoilt it as they were £4 or £6 and more for steaks. Recommend you scrutinise your bill, we had an extra Guinness, large glass of Merlot added to ours and they charged £2.20 for table water from the tap!! Not in top 10 to visit
The Farmers Arms – DurhamWe dined on Monday night as a family of 3 and the staff could not have been more accommodating with my daughter, thank you so much. Great service and great food. We will definitely return.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamMy wife and I booked a SPA access and afternoon tea. Shame there was no pool, but we knew that before we booked. We enjoyed the releasing time and the meal was a nice selection of savoury and sweet, topped off with a glass of Prosecco. A great experience for the price. Would book again.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonAfter not being here for a few years due to moving out of the area it was lovely to visit and have a fabulous experience. Food was absolutely delicious and a lovely pint of a larger too. Staff were so nice and the place just has such a lovely vibe, excellent price too. My partner is gluten free, staff were very knowledgeable with allergens and there was a lot of variety for gf which is so nice. My partner had the original parmo and his food was delicious, I personally couldn’t tell it was gf it was that nice but it definitely was. For those with allergens highly recommend this as a safe place to eat. We will definitely be eating here again when local.
Three Horseshoes – BillinghamA lovely welcoming restaurant that serves great food that all can enjoy. Matt and his team are friendly and helpful. We would recommend a trip to anybody interested in good food and an enjoyable dining experience as we return time and again.
Mateo’s – Castle EdenTasty food. Nice setting. Excellent value.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamOne of the best Sunday dinners I’ve had. Everything on the plate was superb. You’ve set the bar and other places are gonna feel like a let down now. Will 100% be back.
Witton Castle Country Park – Bishop AucklandRecently visited for the second time and can't fault the place. Food service and atmosphere excellent, had the added bonus of a saxophone player who was also superb which was a nice touch, one of the best restaurants in the area, we'll definitely return
