Very good Sunday Lunch. Staff were very good too. We will be back!

As much as the food was lovely the service was extremely slow. We arrived at 12:30 had 2 courses and only left at 2:40!

1230 hrs 10 May 26 Not busy ordered 2 one course Sunday lunches & waited 50 mins for food. I complained & offered desserts for free. Apple crumble & custard arrived had to wait 20 mins for it to cool down. I feel the staff were disgruntled hence beyond hot. Won’t be back

Had many fantastic pizza here so thought we would try kebab wraps After many disappointments from other shops Very impressed fantastic portions Good quality kebab meat Very tasty Highly recommend Worth the travel from chester le street

Visited last night (09/05/26) with my husband & again a lovely 1st class experience. Had Garlic Prawns for Starter which were out of this world, & Carbonara for main whilst hubby enjoyed one of the huge chicken burgers...and those chips are something else WOW! I washed mine down with a couple glasses of Sauvignon whilst hubby had a couple of beers. Food outstanding all fresh & hot. Staff very attentive making sure all was satisfactory. Excellent vibe in the restaurant. Looking forward to visiting once again.

Total disappointment. Booked a lunchtime meal for my birthday after checking out the menu on the website. Was expecting to be in the upstairs bar/restaurant area but only the basement bar was open and several items were missing off the menu I,d looked at. This included the steak which we were going to have. My wife then asked for the mince and dumplings and that wasn't on either. She then enquired about the roast dinner but that only came with pork which she doesn't like. Ended up cancelling the meal as there was nothing else she wanted. Luckily we went to another place a short drive away and had an excellent meal from an extensive menu. Been in the cafe at the castle many times and it's great so shame about the bar meal experience.

This was the first time here as on a short holiday from Stoke-on-Trent, the food -pasta was very hot, tasty and enjoyable and the service could not be faulted. I would definitely eat here again if in the area

We are so happy to find this place. Everything was amazing from the atmosphere, the staff to the food. Added bonus was a pianist. We got xl Yorkshire puddings filled with Sunday roast and it was that good value for money we took advantage of the 2 course offer. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic food and service. It has become a regular destination whenever we are in Durham. Highly recommend.

We came in on Sunday for a meal. Had the most beautiful home cooked roast beef . Lovely friendly staff. The added bonus was having the live pianist on it really created a lovely atmosphere. Will we definitely be back again!

The quality of the food was very good - the service was outstanding- staff could not have been more helpful. However- unfortunately the food was cold- tepid at best and we waited for 40 minutes for this and it wasn’t particularly busy . Extremely disappointing as the place is lovely We did get our drinks free for this reason but I’d rather have had hot food

Had a lovely Saturday afternoon spa day with treatment and afternoon tea..beautiful setting and the sun was shinning...Great massage was had and staff lovely, only downside was the water on offer was warm..would be nice chilled..afternoon tea was amazing great choice..and gluten free was to...deffo will be returning...

Visited the Hogarth for afternoon tea with my granddaughter. The girl serving was very attentive polite and really helpful. The food was fresh. Sandwiches were really tasty. Scones were divine given a choice of fruit or cheese. We had one each in a selection of cakes. Absolutely delicious really enjoyed it with lashongs of tea would definitely

Excellent value for money, even with the supplement great 3 course meal. Best sticky toffee pudding ever tasted. Staff very friendly

I have visited here many times with my husband & friends. Service has always been great, staff are friendly & very accommodating. Food is lovely and plentiful with prices being very reasonable giving you great value for money. Looking forward to visiting again.
