A very poor experience. They are using an online booking system but don’t know how to use it properly. We arrived for our booking and were rudely told we hadn’t booked enough in advance and they didn’t have a table for us and sent us away. What’s worse is that the then asked us to write them a review. If you screw thing up it’s best to be really apologetic and take responsibility rather than blaming the customer.

We had the sharer pie for two, it was huge you could probably share between three. The starters were amazing and the staff were lovely and really attentive. Definitely a great place to go with friends.

Really good menu choices for both evening meals and Sunday lunch. The staff are always so welcoming and eager to assist. Fabulous selection of ales, lagers and also a brilliant wine list. It’s been really busy every time we’ve been with a great atmosphere in both the restaurant and bar. We would highly recommend it.

The Hour Glass Inn – ExeterOutstanding food as always at The Hour Glass. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, making it a lovely place to relax and enjoy a proper meal. Every dish was full of flavour and clearly prepared with care. The staff are A1 as always… peachy farmer rules! The only tiny note would be that the pork could have been slightly warmer, but honestly, that didn’t take away from what was a fantastic experience in every possible way. Highly recommended and already looking forward to the next visit.
