Excellent meal. The food was of quality and presented beautifully. Orders were taken at the table once we were able to be seated (15 min wait). Real Ales, wide range of wines and a lovely atmosphere.

Chaucers – ExeterThere were nine of us booking at the last minute (rained off family barbecue). We found the staff polite and helpful, they were especially kind with my disabled mother. The service was swift, the food tasty and the portions big enough to make my nephew and niece's mouths open in amazement and say ?ow? An excellent meal, great fun; we plan to return.
Starz Bar and Restaurant – ExeterIt's all about respect. There's no doubt that the chefs at Michael Caines' respect their ingredients: everything is cooked and arranged on the plate with a technical skill and precision which can only be admired. The flavours are subtle and sing as clearly as a pure musical note, if perhaps a little short of the unusual or imaginative combinations, the "wow" factor that you might hope for at this end of the market. There's also no doubt that if you are there on a date, your companion will respect your ability to hand over around £100 for three courses for two people - more if you drink your wine by the bottle rather than the glass - without whimpering. The only question is whether serving up food at these prices in portions which border on the nouvelle (where DO they find such small scallops?), and then charging extra for vegetables, really shows a lot of respect for their customers. It's your choice. If you want faultless food and are willing to pay handsomely for it, this is the place for you; if you want something less fussy and more filling, perhaps there are other establishments around to better suit your needs.
ABode Exeter – ExeterWe have visited the Manor on many occasions and the food is always excellent. Set in the beautiful Teign Valley the Manor is only a small place and they have a lovely beer garden. They have an extensive menu, generous portions and very reasonable prices. I am a fussy eater and I find it hard to make a decision on what to order as there are so many things that I like, which is very rare when I go out. The garlic bread really is the best.
Manor Inn – ExeterThe smith family We always come here on special occasions birthday ect and have done for the past 15 yrs Top marks to george
China Gardens – ExeterBest indian curry i ever had in my life.
Ganges The – ExeterPrezzo offers great food at surprisingly low prices. The ambience is cozy, comfortable, and well-suited for conversation. The service at Prezzo is refreshingly attentive and friendly without being pushy.
Prezzo – ExeterProbably the best meal out, in terms of atmosphere and overall enjoyment, that i've ever had outside of London.
Harrys Restaurant – Exeterthe place was good nice venue but the restaurant was very cold and the parties i was with thought the same but perhaps it was just that day so all in all it was a nice place.
Bar Venezia – ExeterLively atmosphere with a mixture of young and old, smart and casual. Service was excellent, i wasn't sure whether i would like the Mexican liquor coffee so the waitress offered to change it if i didn't like it. Food was very good and reasonably priced and the liquor coffee was lovely. Would definitely go again.
Harrys Restaurant – ExeterSince the change of Venezia's looks and menus this March, I've been there already twice. The atmosphere was amazing and the choice of dishes was just too much...
Bar Venezia – ExeterA lovely old pub - rather difficult to find but well worth the trouble. It? a grown ups only place except for Sunday lunch
Merry Harriers The – ExeterThis is ok, in a restaurant chain kind of way. It's nothing special and I wouldn't go there for a special occasion, although we'd have loved it when we were young and skint (still skint, not young anymore).
Prezzo – ExeterUndoubtedly good service whether you go as a couple or on a works do with 20 people. The food is good, not cheap, and you do get BIG portions. I agree with the other reader concerning the outside terrace. Very cool in the summer, but don't tell anyone about it!
Mexican, The – ExeterExmouth's best kept secret! Although this pub can be smokey, the atmosphere is always friendly and the food in the evenings is something really special! The beer is the best in the area as well.
The Beach – ExeterThis is a place with split personalities. By day it is a coffee shop with a good range of speciality coffees and teas, with delicious cakes and pastries to tempt you. You can also enjoy anything from a light bite to a full English breakfast in the mornings and a limited range of sandwiches, paninies and jackets at lunchtime. As it is licensed you can also enjoy a glass of wine or a beer to help your lunch go down. By night, this place really comes into its own. The coffee shop becomes a bar, but beware the atmosphere can vary from either very quiet, to lively, to somewhat rowdy, depending on what clientele happens to be passing at the time. Food is not served downstairs in the evenings, but the real strength of this place is the restaurant upstairs. I would stress that the above marks relate to the restaurant. The food has a continental twist and is always excellent as is the service which is efficient and understated. The restaurant overlooks the Strand gardens and the atmosphere is calm and candlelit. Ideal for romantic meals or dining with family or friends. Whilst downstairs during the day is a great place to hang out during the day, the restaurant is thoroughly recommended.
Franklins – ExeterAn excellent meal with a good vibrant atmosphere coupled with good service, especially from the owner Matt who is friendly with a welcoming smile. Best burrito I have tasted and with daily specials an excellent variety!!
Mexican, The – ExeterNew managers since 2005 and new chefs = better food and much better service. There is a much better choice and although we still had to wait about 30 mins on a busy day the food is always of a good quality whenever we go, which is a lot now it's changed.
Double Locks – ExeterSunday Menu: 2 courses, £31; 3 courses, £39.50.
