East n Spice – GarstangWent to Pipers tonight for the Retro Night for my daughters birthday and can honestly say that it is the best meal we have had for a long long time. In fact my daughter went to Gordon Ramsays in Claridges this weekend and said the meal at Pipers tonight was better! We will certainly be returning whenever we can. Wonderful atmosphere and waiter and price was certainly reasonable for the fabulous meal we had. Cant wait to visit again
Pipers – GarstangOUTSTANDING MINCE STEAK PIE ,THE BEST EVER BY A MILE AND THE STAFF WERE FABULOUS
Pantry Cafe – GarstangWe have had the pleasure to dine here on numerous occasions, without doubt this is the best restaurant for miles around. We have been lucky enough to sample the bistro style weekday lunch, as well as the evening a la carte and set menus . The fantastic value 3 course Sunday lunch menu is a family favorite with both my teenagers eager to join us, which doesn't happen often! The food is always fresh, and sourced locally as well as using fair trade suppliers. Menus are varied and mouthwatering, it takes me ages to choose from all the tempting dishes on offer, I always want to try something I haven't had before and I am never disappointed. We always leave wondering when we can fit in another visit soon. The team at Pipers are first class, a warm welcome as well as friendly efficient service just tops of a perfect eating experience. If you haven't tried it you don't know what you're missing.......
Pipers – GarstangStumbled upon this lovely farm by chance whilst visiting Brockbottom. The rhubarb ice-cream is a must try! The kids really enjoyed feeding the lambs and petting the other animals as did I! We will be back soon to try the Sunday Lunch.
Cobble Hey Farm and Gardens – GarstangHad a lovely lunch here today. Excellent value for exceptionally good home cooked food. The family that run the hotel were welcoming and friendly and the waitress is a real character. Will definitely be returning in the none-to-distant and hope to get to a curry night soon. Give this place a try, you won't regret it!
Kenlis Arms Hotel – GarstangMy hubby and i met here some 19 years ago and often visit for special meals. We went in November and it was fantastic so after the birth of our little boy we decided to celebrate with our two older boys on Monday. How disappointed we were. I ordered the hot pot having had it previously to be served up a dish of microwaved slop!!! It was accompanied by a shop bought roll and no red cabbage as advertised. My hubby's meal of viking gammon did not come with any vegetables. |The boys meals were okay, throughout the whole time we were made to feel like we shouldn't be there as it was late afternoon when we arrived, even though we did check they still served food. Obviously they wanted to finish early and the whole experience was awful. would think twice about going again.
Th’Owd Tithe Barn – GarstangHad a tasty sandwich at the very busy Royal Oak in Garstang. Great value for money!
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangCame across Cobble Hey by chance, lovely location and really homely food. All cooked on site and staff are really helpful. Great for a good value meal for all the family. Animals are cute to
Cobble Hey Farm and Gardens – GarstangWe visited this lovely village pub for a Sunday evening meal after driving down the Blackpool Illuminations. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and were greeted not only by warmth and atmosphere but also smiles :) I started my meal with the Chilli and BBQ Chicken wings which I can say were a brilliant twist to the regular BBQ Wings found in most other pubs, there were 6 large wings with plenty of meat on them and dressed with a fresh and crisp salad garnish. My husband started with the Homemade Garlic Mushrooms - again excellent presentation and very tasty indeed (i did pinch a few!) For our main meals I chose the Traditional Sunday Roast Pork served with a huge bowl of fresh vegetables cooked perfectly (not soggy!), 3 massive roast potatoes, new potatoes and a yorkshire pudding, not forgetting the obviously homemade rich gravy. My husband opted for a "Laurel and Hardy" or to others a 10oz rib -eye steak topped with lamb chops and 2 fried eggs served with chips and salad garnish... The fact that there was not a smidgen left speaks for its self, eggs cooked perfectly, steak full of flavour and cooked to his request, the lamb chops were meaty and juicy. Unfortunately we couldn't manage a pudding after such generous portions but have to say the puddings we saw coming out to other tables looked beautiful. We will definitely be stopping off again and have been telling our friends all week about "The Horns Inn" Garstang. 10 out of 10
Horns Inn – GarstangFriendly service and reasonably good Indian food
East n Spice – GarstangTeamed with good background music, great food and enthusiastic staff, Horns Inn offers a relaxed atmosphere and is therefore a pub which I find my family and I often return to. They offer a wide variety of food including a daily specials board. I would definitely recommend it.
Horns Inn – GarstangI have eaten here a few times and its been ok but I had a meal here on Sunday and I was disappointed really. We were given dirty cutlery that was clearly filthy; in fact I don’t think they had even been washed! I am quite funny with cleanliness and tried my best not to let it put me off my food but to be fair it did do. When the food arrived it looked nice enough but tasted bland and greasy, we had the mushroom, black pudding and chicken to start and then for the mains we had smothered chicken that was passable, sausage and mash (my dish) that just tasted cheap and the gravy tasted like oxo cubes….I didn’t eat much of it so that the dog was happy getting my left overs, and finally my mum had the seafood platter which she really enjoyed especially the roll mop herrings. Like I said the food is usually good here so maybe you were just having an off day but giving filthy cutlery out is just not acceptable…not sure if I will be coming here again which is a shame because this really is a lovely venue and the wines are great!
Th’Owd Tithe Barn – GarstangMy partner and I dined at Pipers last night and were delighted by the quality of the service and the food. Excellent value for money with a more than adequate wine list I will definitely be returning. The confit of duck pie was a rich flavoursome experience and the seared loin of venison with wild mushroom and oyster sauce was cooked to perfection. This, coupled with the charming ambience made this the best meal I have sat down to for quite a while.
Pipers – GarstangWe have had three or four evening meals and a couple of lunchtime meals at the pipers. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good food, well prepared and served. The staff are very friendly and helpful, try it you will not be disappointed
Pipers – GarstangJust enjoyed a great meal at Pipers. The restaurant is really relaxed and has a great atmosphere. The wine was reasonable and high quality. The service was exceptional - really friendly delivered by people who wanted to make the evening a pleasure. The food was original with superb ingredients cooked to perfection and my only problem was deciding what to have off the menu. Well done Pipers
Pipers – GarstangWe'd happily travel a long way to sample the really excellent cuisine on offer at Pipers in Garstang. Luckily we don't have to as it's within walking distance of where we live so we can enjoy great wine too (good value by the bottle!). We've been twice now and we're looking forward to returning again and again. Brilliant.
Pipers – GarstangThe Punchbowl Inn must be one of the best places for great pub food in Lancashire. I eat out at least once each week and this is one of those places that serves what I call memorable food. Each time I go I can't wait to go back! Excellent food and excellent value for money - big portions - take your appetite with you. Staff are warm, friendly and helpful.
