The best pie I've ever had. Honestly brilliant from start to finish and booked again for next Thursday. Absolutely love this place.

The best pie I've ever had. Honestly brilliant from start to finish and booked again for next Thursday. Absolutely love this place.
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonAs always the food was very good and, despite being very busy, the staff very pleasant and cheerful. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a good pub lunch. haven't yet tried an evening meal but by all accounts it is worth a visit.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonThe staff were very friendly, accommodating and helpful, especially with my Disabled father. The food was lovely and definitely come again
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthVery easy booking system. This is a great place to try lots of different foods and there is something for everyone. The main stars of the buffet are the Asian and Indian selection. So much variety and always replenished and hot. This makes it a brilliant place to have little bits of food to try and be a bit adventurous. The Pizzas looked good but I didn’t try them. The sushi selection is varied but a bit bland. The section for the less adventurous or kids is plentiful, including chicken nuggets, sausages, chips etc. This is the second time I have been now and on both occasions there was no Kebab and no Teppanyaki. The pasta section looked very unappetising with tiny squares of lasagne looking like dried up pie and the pasta with sauces didn’t look much better. The carvery is an absolute joke with sliced meat in some kind of water to stop it drying out( nothing like the picture on the website!) and the “Yorkshire puddings” were unrecognisable resembling a soggy Blini. There is a very nice salad bar with everything looking very fresh, colourful and inviting. Plenty of choices on the dessert bar too and the ice creams seemed very popular alongside the gateau’s, Eaton Mess, Crepes and chocolate fountain. The bar area could do with a bit of support. It took ages to queue up and get a glass for the bottomless drinks, the place wasn’t even that busy at the time and the bar staff could certainly do with a bit of customer training, bless them they looked like they had the life sucked out of them. The table staff are great at clearing the plates away ready for the next course and there are always plenty of clean plates and cutlery to pick up for the next round. I think, being that it is such a huge place with high ceilings the noise echoes around a lot and it’s a very noisy environment, makes it difficult to have a conversation. The place is immaculately clean. I’ve been twice now with two different groups of people. Not sure I will rush back anytime soon.
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthWe’ve been here a couple of times and it’s always been so nice. Great food great service. Would recommend.
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthFood and service very good sadly there was some kind of event on the next room which created at times a very noisy atmosphere
The Half Moon – PetersfieldI have been to Spoons several times now and I am still impressed with the variety of food. It's value for money. The food is lovely and the atmosphere is great. The service was also very good.
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthThis was our first visit. My son wanted to go for his birthday. Had a great time, good variety of food and was unsure where to start. Environment was clean and tidy, staff very nice and will go again.
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthAmazing Sunday lunch, the best I've eaten out Staff friendly and competent, very reasonable price. Atmosphere amazing, lovely.
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonExcellent food, Staff was A++ For sure we will go back!!
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthWe were staying at Hurst View Campsite and had a lovely early evening walk to The Chequers Inn for dinner. The welcome was warm and the Sauvignon Blanc I chose was very good. The beer was a well kept draught beer. Both our meals were hot and tasty. My husband had a burger and really enjoyed his pudding of syrup sponge and custard. My cod and chips was very good but not sure that the cheesecake was up to the same standard sadly. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonThe restaurant lacked ambience but we enjoyed the food. The staff were friendly and we were able to remove a couple of things from my husband's meal and add others to make it more to his taste. He had the steak and I had the camembert and they were both great.
The Half Moon – PetersfieldWe booked a table for 6 people and had a good meal. Staff were friendly. We would return. Menu fine but a couple more vegetarian dishes would be nice.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWe booked a table 2 weeks before our visit and were assured from the information given by the Chequers Inn that it was dog friendly, however when we arrived we were told that we would be sitting out in the marquee. It was devoid of the pub atmosphere, sitting at basic tables with a huge TV screen showing rugby. We had no choice but to accept this table. It was not what I had hoped for, that is, a nice Inn with atmosphere and good food. I would avoid it if I visited the area again.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonMy husband and I are here on a visit from Australia staying in Lymington with family members. I booked a table for 6 from Australia for a reunion with friends. We all had a delicious meal and the service was excellent. I would throughly recommend Chequers.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWe have been to this pub many times in the past, when we used to look after our young grandson once a week. We always used to have our evening meal at the Half Moon on our way back home. There was always a warm welcome and a varied menu available. My wife who is a celiac, had a full gluten free menu to choose from. We recently returned to the Half Moon, taking my Mother-in Law for a meal on her Birthday. Again we had a warm welcome and the food was enjoyed by all that came. The prices are very reasonable. My Mother-in Law was made a fuss of because it was her 96th Birthday and they kindly put a candle on her dessert and everyone in the pub sang Happy Birthday.
The Half Moon – PetersfieldLovely Rump steak & Ham egg & chips , highly recommended this place , we were staying at hurst view campsite so a nice 15min walk .
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonCame in yesterday with my mum before the show at the Mayflower. Food was quick, hot and absoutely gorgeous. Me and my mum ordered a pasta carbonara each and it was so yummy. The service was quick and all the staff was so polite.
