The Canal Turn – CarnforthTruly deserving of all its accolades. A really first class meal. We eat at Michelin starred places regularly and this was one the best yet!
Moor Hall – Restaurant with Rooms – OrmskirkA lovely and character filled historical pub canal side in Lathom Burscough. Very busy on a Thursday lunch which says a lot for the place. I ordered the cheese and onion toastie which was very pleasant. Good service and clean and tidy. Like to try their beers sometime.
The Ship Inn – OrmskirkWe enjoyed a very special two course lunch last week. one of our favourite Italians!
Italian Orchard – PrestonReally enjoyed my lunch of friend chilli Halloumi with hummus salad and flatbread. I also very much like the relaxed vibe of this modern Greek kitchen in Clitheroe. Recommended
Brizola Bar & Grill – ClitheroeGreat staff, very friendly! Delicious mushroom soup. Great music on Sat!
The Canal Turn – CarnforthLovely chippy. The young lady who serves and the man (who I think may own it) are really chatty and friendly. Food is lovely and they have dandelion and burdock cans which keeps my partner happy. Brilliant, would recommend!
Ilex Chippy – RawtenstallA very busy and popularcafe specialising in hot chocolate, shakes, waffles and coffee. I enjoyed my milkshake very much.
The Chocolate Works – Clitheroe. Tried to book online but was completely booked up all weekend. Did a 'walk in' around 1.30pm and got a table straight away as there'd been some 'no shows'. They've done a fantastic job of the building and decor, the balcony on the back will be fantastic on a sunny evening, outside seating on the front of the building too. Staff were great, very attentive, ordered from the prix fixe menu, 2 courses for £11.95. Had chicken liver parfait followed by beef bourguignon. Food was lovely and the wine was average restaurant price but they do wine in 175, 250, 500 & 750ml, don't see 500ml offered in many places. You can also go in for just drinks but. Highly recommended on 1st visit, would definitely go again!
Bistrot Pierre – PrestonOne of my favourite pubs! Beautiful location in a unique village Downham
Assheton Arms – ClitheroeHad an excellent lunch here today. And I also really enjoyed hearing the passion of the owner has for food and clean, healthy, organic food. Everything is made in-house and I took some of their gorgeous bread away. if you care about what you put in your mouth and where it comes from then eat here. They now have bedrooms too!
Greendale View Kitchen and B&B – ClitheroeWe have been coming to the canal turn since moving to Lancaster. The staff and owners cannot do enough for you! They have looked after us at ever step wether it be with their delicious food, fantastic entertainment or just a quick win on an evening walk. I could not recommended this place enough. Harriot, Steve & Murphy
The Canal Turn – CarnforthGREAT SETTING & GREAT PUB JUST 6 MINUTES OFF THE M6 MOTORWAY & GLUTEN FREE AVAILABLE TOO Having driven across from Newcastle I pulled off the motorway and less than 6 minutes drive from the M6 found this great pub in a superb tranquil setting on the canal. It seems that food is served all day which is brilliant and I had a delicious chicken burger (all chicken breast) on a gluten free bun with home made gluten free onion rings - the kitchen went out of their way to cater for me as a Coeliac (thank you). Plus as I was driving during my 2 days in the area I enjoyed a pint of lime & soda and was not charged excessively for it. I also chatted at the bar with a few locals who were friendly and seemed to welcome a stanger - they also told me that the beer was superb since the new management had taken over - always good to hear and the mark of a good pub if the locals drink there in my opinion. Wallings are a local ice cream company I have not heard of but they certainly produce great Ice Cream & The Canal Turn does a big tasty selection - I enjoyed one or 2 flavours! I actually went back to The Canal Turn the next night as it was "Take Out Tuesday", it seems the kitchen is closed on a Tueday night (they serve food from 9:30am so when else would they get time to do a deep clean) so I could get some indian food sent in from a local Indian Restaurant to eat in a relaxed pub atmosphere, a great idea in my opinion. It was also lovely as the sun shone to sit outside on what looks like new tables/benches and just watch the world go by with a drink - very relaxing by the canal. I could imagine it could also be lovely on a crisp winters day wrapped in a blanket with a drink or hot chocolate taking it all in. A selection of the days newspapers was a lovely touch too. I would like to think I will be back and would recommend a visit if you are in the area
The Canal Turn – CarnforthLooks like this place is under new ownership and has closed for a refurb for a few months.
Ye Horns Inn – PrestonHad a lovely lunch here. Halloumi panini with side salad. i'll have a cheeky drink next time too!
The Arches – BlackburnWould like to pass on our thanks for a lovely meal on Saturday 23rd June. Our meal was somewhat late in arriving, but the quality of the meal and your friendly and hospitable staff made the evening. We could see you we're clearly very busy and appreciated the effort you made.
Da Vinci’s – ChorleyGreat pub, great restaurant in gods county Lancashire!
Derby Arms – LongridgeMy partner and I came for an evening meal, celebrating a birthday, the food was delicious, I would recommend the st. Jacques scallops and lamp rump, it was cooked to my liking. We had mentioned the birthday on booking and had arrived to the table being dressed with a personalised reserved sign, 2 glasses of complementary prosecco with strawberries and received a hand written dessert plate with chocolates. I will definitely be returning with friends and family.
