Smiths Arms – PrestonDear staff of the Barbon Inn, Just to say a huge thank you to all of you for a most enjoyable Mother's Day lunch yesterday. From the moment we were offered a delicious complimentary glass of wine on arrival we were made to feel most welcome. All six of us thoroughly enjoyed the meals we chose - not always the case when you try somewhere new and are not sure what to have, and especially as my 3 children are pretty fussy eaters. As I said to the lady who served us, the venison pie was the most delicious pie I have ever eaten bar none! The tables were beautifully decorated and the service was warm and attentive. All in all the perfect meal out. Even the toilets were a bit special! I must confess that I found you by accident on the Internet when searching for somewhere else and I'm so glad I did. Unfortunately living in Keighley we are not exactly on the doorstep but would love to come back soon. Can you recommend anywhere to camp in your beautiful valley, so that we can hopefully pay a return visit when the weather warms up? Once again many thanks, Regards, The Spence family, Keighley, W. Yorks
Barbon Inn and Restaurant – Kirkby LonsdaleMy children took me to Calypso last Sunday for Mothers Day. I had never eaten Caribbean food before and absolutely loved it. There was a great atmosphere and the staff were wonderful We had the platter and that was great as we were able to sample lots of different dishes I will certainly be returning at every opportunity and would recommend to anyone.
Calypso Restaurant – BlackburnA very vibrant and friendly cafe food to high standards well worth a visit
Erics Cafe – Morecambefish beautiful chips dry and crispy proper mushy peas nice clean shop highly recommended
Ilex Chippy – RawtenstallWhat a fantastic meal-the best Italian we have ever had. The food was out of this world, the tastes were just sublime. The staff couldn't do enough to make our meal special and told us all about the dishes and where the produce was sourced. You haven't lived until you have sampled the delights at this authentic Italian restaurant.
La Locanda Ristorante Italiano – ClitheroeGood to see Sukhis Restaurant has a good mention in Sugarvine. I have been to this restaurant on a number of occasions when visiting Darwen with my wife, who was a Darwen girl before moving to Australia. June 2009 was our last visit and we enjoyed Sukhis hospitality with his friendly, courteous staff. . Still looking for a perfect Chicken Tikka Marsala as nothing comperes in Australia. It wont be long before we come back.
Raj Mahal – DarwenI recently dined at this beautiful establishment and it was superb. The Place is drop-dead gorgeous with roaring log fires and lovely traditional charm balanced with modern luxurious touches. Loads of comfy settees and also a very classy restaurant. Also worth noting were the beautiful toilets - I always judge a place on its toilets! We dined off the Table d-hote menu which was two courses plus a glass of champagne for a great £20! The food was beautiful, very nicely presented and staff very attentive. One slight gripe is that they failed to cook my beef well- done as I had asked (how hard is this??!) but I experience this wherever I go and they did do it again and it was almost perfect! A definite place to go if you want a classy and luxurious meal in beautiful surroundings.
Mitton Hall – ClitheroeI spent an evening there recently with a group of friends. Every aspect of the evening was faultless, the food, the drink, the service, the decor, the entertainment (live singer / musician) and the prices impressed us all. Indian food wasn't my first choice until I went to North St, the food here is fantastic, I really cant wait to go back and try something else off the menu! Ive raved about it to all my friends telling them they must go! Should mention that we where shocked when we received the bill, but in a good way, well under what we expected!! Get yourself down to North St this weekend!
North Street Indian Restaurant – Rawtenstallrecommend i think not. terrible service, the customer is definitely not right burnt food would not recommend this restaurant to anyone
Porcinis – PrestonWe visited North Street Indian last night with a group of friends. The staff were extremely welcoming - they couldn't do enough for us! We all ordered different starter and main course dishes and everyone agreed it was the best Indian food they have ever had. In fact, I booked for the following week (Mothers Day) and I'm already looking forward to showing this little gem off to some more people!!
North Street Indian Restaurant – RawtenstallThe hottest tastiest fish chips and peas in Lancashire, my wife and myself have a chippy once a week on a Friday and can thoroughly recommend it, we have enjoyed it over five years and hope to enjoy it for a lot more, Thank you to the staff at Roe lee chippy
Roe Lee Fish Bar – BlackburnSix of us ate at Amelies on Saturday night. After my 1st visit I already had this up as my all time number one restaurant so when I knew I was going again I was very excited. After my second visit I love it even more.... the atmosphere, the attention given by the staff... It's all round WOW, fantastic, amazing. Thank you
Amelies – ChorleyI think we must have been very unlucky! We are an easy going family and have never had to complain about restaurant food like this before. There were eleven of us, and the starters took three quarters of an hour to arrive. When we finally got them, one had been forgotten, and didn't arrive until after everyone else had finished. The main courses were either over-cooked, or in some cases, BURNT! I was told that my seafood crepe was burnt because it had been in the oven, and that it was ok on the inside. Actually it wasn't ok on the inside; the prawns were rubbery when I tried one. I prefer mine less well cooked. If this is Italian cooking at it's finest, I think I'll give it a miss.
Porcinis – Prestoni would most certainly recommend this restaurant me and a friend had a lovely meal, there was so much to choose from an caters for all kinds of tastes ,the friendly atmosphere and food compliment each other ,we had a lovely day an thanks to all the staff ,and compliments to the chef !! im sure this restaurant will do great ,it's definitely worth going and seeing for yourself ,we will definitely be going back again *****,
Calypso Restaurant – BlackburnFirst discovered MJ's at a 'Christmas do' (always a good way to judge restaurants as they tend to be 'much of a muchness'. It turned out to be one of the best I have ever been to with superb food, excellent service and a live band who judged what their audience wanted and went for it! Have been a few times since and everything has always been first class. Hoping to go soon for my special birthday and special anniversary combined.
Springbank Manor – DarwenAn excellent chinese takeaway. Recommend the 1/4 duck and the salt and pepper ribs are excellent!! Just wish they'd be consistent with giving free prawn crackers on home deliveries-never know whether to order them or not, just in case:-)
Lee’s Cantonese Kitchen – DarwenThis establishment has a long-held reputation for its food and ambience, located in Clitheroe. The portions are huge but prices very reasonable, considering the location.
