Myself and 3 friends went to Papa Luigis on Wednesday night for a girly catch up – two of which have just moved to Euxton – I myself am from Oswaldtwistle (This would be my 2nd visit). To start with I went to the bar to order two drinks – a bottle of Peroni and a large Sauvignon Blanc. The less than happy waiter informed me they didn’t have Sauvignon Blanc and proceeded to lift out the only wine available (Pinot Grigio) and poured it. He then asked me for £12.55. I paused and queried this with him ‘’£12.55?’’ I got an eye roll and a ‘’yes’’ reply. I turned to my friend to make a point that I wasn’t going to be buying her one again! As I was getting the money out of my purse the waiter sighed and walked off! I looked at the screen of the till and it had on it PIONT GRIGIO £4.90, PERONI £3.40; I was that angry I didn’t do my sums in my head there and then! I left the £12.55 exactly on the bar and walked off. As for the general meal; the attitude of the staff was awful. My friend sent hers back because as it just looked so dry (Seafood Spaghetti). The unhelpful waiter didn’t even apologise just whisked her plate away. Then it was brought back by a woman who just put it down and mumbled something like “ is that ok”? But didn’t actually wait for a reply. At the end of the meal we discussed the food, the chicken was dry, the seabass (£18.90) still had full set of bones in and the beef stroganoff (£19.00) was chewy/grizzly and the rice wasn’t al dente – it wasn’t cooked! When the unhelpful waiter noticed we had finished (Still all plates half full) asked if everything was ok and my friend started to tell him why she had left most of her food; he didn’t even listen or acknowledge she said anything he just walked away! Dreadful staff and service. We will definitely not be returning and I would not recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Great evening. Great food, Great Hospitality. Many thanks for what I can only say is the best food in the area. Tried many places very local and beyond but none live up to the quality and value for money as yourselves. We will be back. SOON. THANKYOU.

We have enjoyed the food at Isolabella's for a number of years. it is always freshly cooked and delicious and represents extremely good value for money. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and as we are now regular customers we feel like part of the family.

One word...WOW! I'm a well travelled person who enjoys a good meal - especially far eastern cuisine. I was recommended this restaurant by a friend who lives local whilst passing through and his recommendation was very greatly received. I have been to the Hakkasan and Kai in London, two Michelin starred Chinese restaurants, and Yu & You in my eyes could quite easily hold their own against them. From the warm welcome, Cocktail selection, to the service and obviously the food - just a breath of fresh air. I honestly do not understand the negative comments previously written. Yes it is a dark restaurant but that creates an intimate setting, the music is modern but quite chilled, I would say an Ibiza chillout vibe. The service of the staff was fantastic, polite, friendly and knowledgeable. I started with the Hot & Sour soup, had a nice tingle to it and full of flavour. I then had the Tempura Squid and a Dim Sum Platter - The squid was cooked perfectly in a lovely batter and the Dim Sum platter just delicious! For the main course I decided to have Steamed Seabass and boiled rice. The Seabass just melted in your mouth and as just devine. Overall a very pleasant experience, I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will be sure to visit again next time I'm in the area.

This is my favourite restaurant, bar none. Right up my street for the food, ambiance and live music. It's always an adventure. Jim, how about giving my band Tramtown Junction a gig? You can hear them on My Space.

Having read the positive recommendations from other subscribers to this website we visited this restaurant on Saturday 18th September to take advantage of an offer of 20% reduction of the total bill as advertised in Live Preston. The restaurant website and menu is great and the restaurant itself is lovely and the service is good but the food was the worst I have eaten in any Indian restaurant in Lancashire. You would fare much better at any takeaway and it was not a patch on the ready made Indians from Asda. We started with poppadoms and a mixed pickle tray. The pickles you will recognise as you can buy them yourselves from any supermarket. We then ordered the Bangla Combo Platter. The kebabs were very processed - probably frozen, the fried aubergines were greasy and tasted of batter and the spring rolls tasted of nothing . We had different main courses. I had Chicken tandoori which was dry and tasteless. I made the mistake of ordering chicken off the bone so I ended up with meat that tasted reconstituted. My partner had Bangal Kursi and the lamb was overcooked and although he was provided with a sharp knife the meat was so dry he could not swallow it without a drink of water. The Rajshah scallops tasted like bits of jelly in tomato sauce. We were offered replacement meals but by this time we just wanted to leave. When we asked for the bill we were overcharged.I do not think we are over discerning eaters we just like good food well cooked. You will get neither at this restaurant.

Visited La Salsa for the 2nd time and I can certainly say they do not disappoint. All you can eat for £11.95 and boy did I eat, there's so much choice, everything I had was absolutely beautiful and fresh too. Loads of meat and fish dishes as well as plenty of choice for vegetarians. Enough food to sink a ship( I was fit for bursting), two large wines and two beers for £38.00- absolute bargain, so much so that we're off again next Friday. Not to be missed. Service was top notch

the place looks fantastic the food is traditional and with out any fuss,stone bake pizza and lasagna are the best I ever had round here the wine is value for money

I have been to ninos about 4 or 5 times now with work and with friends. the food is absolutely gorgeous but sometimes the service can be a bit better, i felt rushed and twice i have nearly ended up wearing my food because they are in so much of a rush to put it down and i have also had the vegetables dropped on my arm because again they where rushing. don't get me wrong it wont make me stop going here but i do wish they would slow down a little bit and be a bit more careful when delivering the food!

Food average, service slow, if as much effort went into delivering great food as they put into marketing and telling you the grid reference of what was on your plate was reared, it would be fantastic

My brother came to stay last week and we decided to take the olds for a meal out. He suggested eating here and we all said we didn't want to go because it would be to expensive for lunch, after a bit of convincing we decided to go and what a pleasant surprise. We had lunch in the conservatory for a very reasonable price i must say and it was delicious. The olds got the small fish and chips and i decided to go for the regular fish and chips which i couldn't finish but it was delicious. I would definitely go again and may i just add what a lovely and beautiful surrounding, the gardens the reception and everything just blew me away. Fantastic.

Absolutely wonderful! The pappa al pomodoro was INCREDIBLE.... Warm and cozy authentic, hearty Italian!

Truffles is worth trying- the food is consistently high quality at a very fair price. From simple steaks to more complex fusion dishes, James the owner/chef enjoys showing his culinary skills. The very wide choice of food, plus a small, but good wine list , combined with excellent service always make a night out there memorable . I'd recommend you try Truffles and support a quality independent local restaurant .

Last night 14 of us from the British Red Cross enjoyed a fantastic meal at Mamma Mias. I had to add more people at the last minute which did not phase them at all - it was simply 'no problem'. The place is clean, bright and very welcoming. Sylvia is the perfect hostess and her staff are very professional, attentive and friendly - thanks to Leanne for all her hard work last night. The food and service was second to none. Often when there is a large party the standard in a restaurant can slip - Mamma Mias is not one of those places! I have no doubt I/we will be returning very soon and I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

On a one night stopover in the area my husband and I visited Benedict's, for a light meal. Can't praise it highly enough. We were spoilt for choice with light meals, (chef's Pate-Delicious.) Mains and Deserts. Food was 1st class and presentation beautiful, bottle of wine with meal was exceptional value and the coffee delicious. The ambience, food, art work all made for an enjoyable experience, we'll definitely visit again.

This evening we ate a damn tasty, perfectly cooked, large portion, nicely priced excellent variety of caribbean food. The friendly staff made us feel at ease instantly and the perfect surroundings with Bob playing, . . Oh wotta night!!!! We will be recommending and going again soon.

Sheila and I have frequented Mama Mia's for many years. We return very often because the meals are really excellent, good value, and the dining room is comfortable, well maintained and spotlessly clean. We would recommend this restaurant to all who love good food and a pleasant atmosphere.

Stayed 3 weeks ago on a Sunday and had brilliant 2 days. Great place - lovely food and lovely bloke who owns it. Hotel room - dinner and full breakfast in lovely place for £25 - fantastic. Castle and park 2 mins walk away. Whalley Abbey 10 mins in car.
