Visited for lunch with my eldest daughter. The food was absolutely lovely and it’s not common that I don’t feel like the poor relative being gluten free, but I had lots of choices which was great. The service was swift and friendly. Already planning to return with my husband and younger daughter.

Best experience ever! Lovely atmosphere, which was very calming, and every single member of staff was lovely and welcoming. Even told us stories about the different cat's there, which made the experience even better! The coffee and food were worth every single penny, and the carrot and chocolate cakes were amazing! Even better experience that we got given some chicken to give the cats, as a treat. Will definitely be back again to visit as we all had a lovely time.

We ate here twice during our stay in Askrigg and had a delicious meal both times! There was a very big specials menu with a wide variety of choices - very difficult to choose! A lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff!

Great service, being from London I was yet to find a curry house that reached the level I was used to or a similar flavour being a fond curry lover Banarasi delivered in every aspect, and id safely say Is better than any curry house id ever tried

Lovely food, hot and tasty. We came for my daughter’s 15th birthday last night. We spoke to the person behind the counter, the manager I presume and asked if he could bring a dessert with a candle in it to celebrate her birth ay but he never appeared and wasn’t there when we left. Didn’t think we were asking too much? Just feel it was a bit expensive for a couple of plates of food as we payed £170 for 6 of us including drinks, not sure we will return.

We had an excellent meal. Fabulous food, great service and atmosphere. Great choice of dishes. The dessert was absolutely amazing.

Delicious food in a lovely environment.

Bar staff were friendly but the teenage waitress was clearly overworked and underexperienced (it was a long time before we got any menus or were able to order). The food was standard pub fair but tasted good and a range of veggie options.

Wasn't happy with carvery quite expensive for the small amount you can get on those small plates once Yorkshire pudding on can't get anything much else on will not be returning had better for less money elsewhere.

We visited the restaurant on 2 evenings when we were staying at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu and it was nice to see some some firm favourites (fish n chips, steak pie etc) alongside an excellent selection of dishes on the 'Specials' board. Over the 2 nights, we had sea bass on a sea food risotto (superb), tender steak blade with a lovely veg selection and pork medallions with apples and fantastic mini baked potatoes. Our starters were the beautifully cooked squid rings, brie wedges and chicken terrine. If you can manage a pudding (portions of everything were very generous), try the lovely profiteroles. There is also a good selection of well priced wines. 3 courses plus wine was very well priced for the beautiful presentation and quality of ingredients. One recommendation would be that if you prefer to eat in the restaurant, state this when booking or you may end up in the bar if it's busy.
