Lovely as always!!

Staying in Saltburn for a few days and so happy I found this culinary gem. I had the pleasure of enjoying the taster menu with the accompanying wine flight. Food was creative and delicious in inviting and comfortable surroundings served by friendly and attentive staff. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and look forward to future visits to the area so I can enjoy more of this wonderful food, wine and hospitality.

Another fabulous meal at Brooks! Great tasting food, cooked fresh and with amazing combinations of flavours, all in a superb atmosphere! I can highly recommend Pacinda's pork (fairly spicy but well worth trying). If you only want (or have room for) pudding, then her cake is to die for. The family are brilliant, a friendly very warm and genuine welcome awaits! I look forward to the cookbook ;-)

Afternoon tea bought as a gift . It was delicious we were seated in a wrap around booth . Alex who showed us to our seats was very. friendly and attentive and helpful made sure we had everything we needed . We had a lovely afternoon

We visited The Maypole for an evening meal while we were staying at Gallaber Park. It was great to see it open again as it was closed on our previous visits. The service was excellent and the meals were freshly made, very tasty and large portions. When we stay in the area again, we will not hesitate to book a meal at The Maypole!

Our friends recommended the White Hart to us for food., we had been many times before but just for drinks. So on Sunday we decided to visit. It was a little early as there was only a handful of people in. The 3 of us all had burgers with cheese and fries. My god the portions were huge, well presented and very very tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed the Czech lager that the very friendly barman recommend to us. If you haven’t visited already, you need to, as we will definitely be returning to this little gem. 11 put of 10

Sunday lunch ! We had the 5 courses and it was all totally delicious! The ham hock terrine was good very good ! The beef was perfectly cooked and all the accompanying vegetables were tasty and well cooked and seasoned Service was friendly and knowledgeable! We will be back!

We had booked a table and arrived a little early, so our table was not ready. It wasn’t a problem we were very quickly seated until our table was available. Such pleasant service, good atmosphere. We enjoyed our coffee and tasty cake while the grandchildren enjoyed delicious milkshakes. Be back again.

We were given this Red Letter Afternoon Tea experience as a gift. Unfortunately, it was very underwhelming and disappointing for a hotel of this standing, which really spoiled the day. We were served in a quiet area of the hotel that had no atmosphere, and the food was very average from our previous experiences elsewhere. The scones in particular were hard and tasteless, and having been served an initial pot of tea, we were then left unattended until we decided to leave. Would not come again.

As always, a great value lunch, particularly as it was York Restaurant Week (2-4-£20). However, not the usual large selection, and some dishes looked a bit tired. We knew their opening hours were until 1500, but they started closing serveries (all deserts gone!) at 1430 and kicked us out dead on 1500, so all a bit rushed at the end. Staff were trying to be accomodating and apologetic, but they could have explained the timings when we arrived at 1315. Also, a strange extra £1.20 added to the bill, which they explained as 'service charge', but 3% seems an odd amount! We left a few quid for the server anyway, but I think it's all combined/shared.

Unfortunately did not live up to expectations, very slow service with the offer of refreshments, had to ask for posecco even thou was on a luxury package, scone cold, n given wrong order for sandwichs despite prior arrangements, Will give credit to Anne, was aplog etic for mix up.

Great food, great and friendly staff
