went on 7 th November with friends and found this place and its food really nice! very good atmosphere and music, the candles on the tables beautiful. Would recommend La Vina always.

This is by far the best restaurant in Yorkshire. We had an amazing meal with friends and were very impressed. Great place.

Went here with a mate because we had heard it was good. There were plenty of dishes to choose from and they were ok. Not quite sure how porks sausages are classified as 'Chinese' but people were eating them. Overall, not bad if you're hungry and want to fill your boots. Couple of disappointments was the odd way the food was sectioned off meaning people were queuing for food directly where the food was so it all became a bit of a traffic jam; the other fly in the ointment was the amount of people in there with little or no manners (I dont need to hear about your child's bowels whilst I'm eating - thank you very much Mr on the next table) Give it a try - it's ok

i went to chilli lounge and it was my best indian food experience!i like hot food and i try naga tarkari which was just perfect for me.i cant recommend this restaurant enough

The food and service is excellent, only 2 grumbles - they don't take credit or debit cards, only cash - and they don't provide jugs/glasses of tap water, but sell small bottles of water.

i have lived in harrogate for many years and frequent only two restaurants, on thursday evening i was going to the cinema and decided to have dinner at the Phoenix as it is a minute walk away from the cinema. I wondered why i have never been to this restaurant as i really enjoyed my beef in black bean sauce and my friend had the king prawn kung po which was really tasty also the portion size was larger than the chinese restaurant i usually frequent, great food and friendly service will be back next week for my friends birthday.

What a great atmosphere, and a fantastic meal. Friendly feel to the place, and the homemade steak pie was superb, served with real chips too. No frozen stuff here. The B & B rooms are definitely worth their 4* rating, and the hearty breakfast was just the reviver we needed. We would recommend this to anyone, and we are returning very soon - we intend to try the fabulous Sunday Roast dinner that the other diners were raving about. Great job, and credit to Sue the landlady for all the changes she has made.

East is fantastic. Notably the service is extremely good, very attentive, and the staff are all very polite and efficient. The quality and authenticity of the dishes is fantastic. We have visited there both as a large group , and also just the two of us, and both times there was nothing that we could not say was excellent. Highly recommended.

We went to Haworth for or silver wedding and came upon the Embers, what a lovely surprise it was a beautiful contemporary restaurant very relaxing and we had a lovely meal, on the terrace which is glassed in and has heaters. We never expected to find something like this in Haworth, would highly recommend it !

Great news! The Emmott's now has new management. Still cheap quality drinks and food. Ideal at a time when there is a financial depression. The emmott's is a great traditional pub and well worth a visit. If your local and have never been in before then I recommend you visit especially now its got new management.

Called in to the Old Station on a local walk. Very impressed with the warm welcome, a lovely pint of Abbot ale and their fish & chip lunch. Was all very good quality; much better than the average pub. We intend to return.

Very disappointing lunch venue. On the face of it the menu, although limited, was interesting, but the delivery was completely unacceptable. Poor service and very poor food standard. £30 for two people. The bowl of olives at £2 was a complete joke - there must have been all of 4!! We would NEVER eat there again - a complete rip off.

Fantastic food and service would recommend to anyone, good prices too especially during the price squeeze, was visiting relatives and wish they are close to my home town.

Had a poor experience. Food was over-priced and not one of the eight of us enjoyed any of the dishes. It doesn't seem to know if it is Spanish, Italian or Portugese - I guess none of the above from the food but the Ferrari flag outside might suggest an Italian owner. The staff were cold and unfriendly.

We visited this restaurant on Friday night it was healthily busy. The waiter took our coats as soon as we arrived and showed us to our table. The decor was trendy with a retro feel and the ambiance was relaxing. The sea food gumbo was outstanding with a mix of Cray fish, cod, monk fish, shrimp, muscles and salmon. My girl friend had Tomato and basil soup which she enjoyed although her main of long horn sirloin was more medium when she asked for it medium well but I enjoyed the taste! I was very disappointed with my main of Crab it was cold there is no way they pulled it out of there tank and got it that cold in the amount of time it got to our table so saying there fresh is a bit of a con. All in all the service was brilliant the food was of a good standard however the disappointment of the night was the price was a little high for the steak and the crab was not fresh as stated 7/10

1st November 2008. We visited this pub yesterday, and were very pleasantly surprised - both by the atmosphere, warmth and cosiness (open fires) and also by the very good selection of food. Perhaps a little more expensive that the average - e.g.£3.95 for soup - but a menu that offers some unusual choices - venison, salmon en papillote with ginger and onions (and cooked in greaseproof paper!!). Wonderful crunchy home made chips and well cooked vegetables. My husband said the Guinness was first class. We had prompt and efficient service and will definitely return. Our journey from Glossop over to Holmfirth was a lovely day out with stunning scenery, probably even better in the summer!
