Service here knocks the socks of other places as does the food. I had Coconut Cous cous with bacon & leek and it blew my head away. Side salad was well dressed in a superb quality olive where other restaurants tend to skip. Main course was perfect which was a Jamaican oven roasted Red Snapper with an avocado dressing. It was cooked perfectly while my wife feasted on venison with orange zest and chick pea. I am definitely returning and I suppose that is the highest recommendation anyone can give any place.

The interior design of Chung Ku is certainly eye pleasing, with its ship's bow its main focal point. The Chung Ku is most certainly an attractive restaurant to visit and has a unique interior design to enjoy whilst dining. The restaurant was full and the atmosphere was lively with many birthday groups in celebration. Space is at a premium and we were seated at a close proximity to fellow diners, not an ideal seating plan for diners who may want to enjoy a quiet evening meal. The food in most parts was good but fell short of being excellent. The char sui in our fried dishes differed in quality to my main meat dish which I have to say was very tasty and tasted as if was freshly roasted on our date of dining. My boyfriend was slightly disappointed after hearing rave reviews from friends and has vowed to only dine at our usual haunts which are the Shanghai Palace and the Tai Pan in the future. The most pleasing aspect from our visit was the at tentative service from the waitresses. Undoubtedly, the Chung Ku provides the ideal service for its customers, we were never rushed, treated with respect and genuine warmth from the staff. If there was ever a North West league table for service alone then Chung Ku would be its leader by a long stretch. Food wise I am willing to give the Chung Ku another opportunity to live up to its reputation for its excellence in Chinese cuisine. So prove my boyfriend wrong and deliver the food I know Chung Ku is capable of!

Just been there this afternoon after reading the recommendations on this site. Beautiful and healthy food, great service and student-friendly prices. Went with a Cantonese friend who loved it too, can't get better recommendation than that.

We have visited the St John Restaurant many times and the food is always excellent, staff are always courteous and it is a great base to explore attractions around Liverpool. Highly recommended and well done for offering a free wifi connection.

A delightfully smoke free restaurant, not very big so book if you can, the food is excellent and original and the service friendly. If the white chocolate cheesecake, the lemon drizzle cake and the creme brulee with berries are on the menu, bad luck, I would have to have all three.

I have recently become a regular visitor to Liverpool. I've tried quite a few places in the town centre but have on many occasions opted to return here. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere, with food to rival London's Brick Lane (very hard to do!!). I would highly recommend anyone pay a visit, especially if you know what you like.

Great food, service, ambience & price. A must for tapas / Mediterranean food lovers. The house red rioja had quality well above standard house wines.

I have eaten at this place a dozen times this month, each time the food was to a very high standard. It's very light, not the msg gloop you get in most of places in China town. Pleasant service with very quick turn around of orders. Only problem is that it is so good and popular that you need to book a table for busy times. One the best eaterys in the Pool, and dirt cheap too.

I have been to Chung Ku many times now - its the only Chinese restaurant in Liverpool that i actually feel so relaxed and know that staff will always be polite and professional - the view is beautiful in the evening, and I always leave there feeling great - usually I have been there with a male Chinese close friend and I never felt any judgement unlike some Asian restaurants you go to where you can encounter any thing from being ignored to practically spitting at you ! - I? not Chinese - thank you Chung Ku

Master Chef is by far the best Indian restaurant in Liverpool! There maybe others nearly as good quality but you will pay double. And the bring your own booze policy is awesome...don't you just love Islam! The waiters are friendly and wear the classic Indian waiter uniform....a cheesy shirt and tie, bollywood haircut and a big white smile!!! Enjoy

We went to La Vina Saturday afternoon, 17th March around 4.00 p.m. My partner had passed by the restaurant a few times during her lunch breaks in the City centre and had remarked how lovely it looked inside so we decided to try it out. We were shown straight away to a cosy table for two by the window. Our waiter introduced himself and began explaining the menu which we thought was really helpful and impressive. We decided on a shared meat platter for two with a couple of sides from the Tapas menu. The food was very good with ample servings. We had a couple of Spanish beers with the meal and finished off with a glass of Sangria each. We were too full to manage desert. We stayed for over 90 mins and never felt rushed at all even though the restaurant was starting to fill up with early evening diners. Overall we had a superb dining experience. The food and service was excellent and we would go back again and try something else from the very varied menu.

Visited on a Thursday evening and the place was busy, but not full. Service was prompt. Menu is excellent and food was well presented and delicious. Wine list is good, recommend the Cote du Rhone. Will definitely go again

I have been going to this restaurant for 10 years or more. I believe this restaurant to be the best in Liverpool, the food is spot on and the fact that you can bring your own drinks is unheard of. You can certainly tell that this establishment is family run and the food is lush. I personally recommend the Lamb Chop starter and both the Karahi Chicken or Lamb dishes. My cousin would also recommend the cheese naan. I hope you all find this useful... Thanks keep up the good work Bash and your team.

I have been to Il Forno on many occasions. The staff are very friendly. Especially the owner, Vince. He always makes sure i have the best quality food served to me and ensures that i have top service. This is one of the best restaurants i have been to. I highly recommend. Thanks Vince and Gianluca
