Absolutely dreadful!!!!!!! Don't bother.
Nam Ploy – BoltonThe food was great. I had a great time there. Like most people have already mentioned, the sashimi was very fresh. I think the sushi here are one of the best in Manchester so far. Appetisers such as the chawanmushi and the chicken karaage were delicious. The bento box was awesome, especially the japanese potato salad in it.
Tokyo Season – Manchester City Centrei have eaten here lots of times and it is fantastic value for money and really tasty!!!
Las Iguanas – Trafford CentreNAM PLOY - went to Nam Ploy on the 17th March 2009 after work and the meal was absolutely fantastic. I am going to go again for my birthday.
Nam Ploy – BoltonWe visited the Fishermans Retreat last week for a celebratory family meal and had a wonderful evening. Fabulous tasty food and really good service from all the staff. Can heartily recommend the steak, red wine and mushroom pie - delicious and this is one of the only places I know where you don't get pale frozen chips. These are real (pity about the calories)!
The Fisherman’s Retreat – RamsbottomWhat a lovely addition to Hyde. Authentic Cuban Tapas at reasonable prices. Fabulous meat, fish and vegetarian options... Try the Quorn meatballs for a vegetarian change - just as good as their meat counterpart! All fresh and served with a smile! We're regulars!
El Cuba Libre – HydeDelicious food, excellent service and great value for money. Have visited twice since changed to La Lupa. If you enjoyed Enzo's you will love La Lupa.
Excellent food at all times. The dim sums are on special half price offer Mon-fri before 5.00 clock.Try the mixed roast meats on a bed of rice! Brilliant. Or try the roast duck with chopped prawns in mushroom sauce-unusual but amazing! Beers can rack up the bill so try the Chinese tea after a glass of wine perhaps. The staff are very helpful & pleasant & will explain dishes if you ask them.We go every week as we love the dim sums for late lunch!
Tai Pan Restaurant – RusholmePanama Hatties, Manchester - 30th Birthday Celebration. Fantastic service. Couldn't do enough for us but not in an intrusive sort of way. The owner / manager was relaxed and efficient which made us feel at ease. There were 17 in our party and all the food was tasty, well cooked and served at the same time. Thanks for a fabulous night!
Panama Hattys – Manchester City CentreThis is a vegetarian restaurant owned by a non vegetarian for non vegetarians. The menu is very boring and any self respecting vegetarian could cook up a meal twice as good for quarter of the price. It's saving grace is that the staff are absolutely lovely and the service is excellent.
Greens – DidsburyThe atmosphere and background music was relatively loud, which could be interpreted as "lively". The waiters were all very friendly and helped to create a positive atmosphere. While the food tasted very good, I thought it very much lacked in quantity, especially when considering the relatively high price. My main course came in a tiny portion of one small slice of nut loaf, and a small cup full of mashed potato - that was it!
Greens – Didsburybrilliant food go there every week.. i would recommend it to everyone!!!!!!! 10/10
Bilash Balti House – SwintonI first went to Ning for the first time on 19th February and were very impressed with both the food and service, excellent on both counts. One of my friends who came along has since contacted me requesting another visit - it obviously made an impression on her!
Ning – Northern QuarterI dined in grill on the alley for my birthday last week and had an amazing time! the service was friendly but unintrusive, and the food was delicious! the experience surpassed my expectation and I will definitely be returning!
The Grill On the Alley – Manchester City CentreMy girlfriend and I tried Try Thai for the first time for an anniversary celebration. It's a really lovely atmosphere, staff are really friendly and the food is amazing - the best I have had outside of Thailand (maybe even as good as in Thailand). By far best Thai restaurant in the city centre.
Try Thai – Manchester City CentreThe first time we dined here, we were very impressed by the relaxed ambience, stylish decor and service. The food was excellent and offered good value for an evening meal - the pork belly was delicious. We returned for lunch a couple of weeks later after shopping in Manchester, choosing to support our local hostelry however the story at this time was quite different. The service was amateurish and haphazard, the table (and floor) was covered with the remnants from the previous diners, of which we had to ask to have removed. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad which was tasty but at £7.95 represented a meagre portion; I took issue with the manager who said I should have notified them when it arrived and offered no recourse; I even gave him a solution to knock a couple of pounds of the bill to keep a local customer loyal and happy. His response? "If I knocked money off every time customers complained we'd never make any money!" I was angry with his lack of regard to the issue at hand and thought that the owners should be aware of this. I emailed them and was told it would be investigated; they replied some time after and advised me that as a result there would be a starter portion and a main portion on the menu. I applauded them for this however I asked how they planned to deal with my plight. I received no reply. Until I began receiving spam emails from them that is....... We will not be returning here as they do not value their customers.
The Lounge – RamsbottomMy partner and I often visit the Black Ladd. This Sunday we had an excellent meal there, as usual. Rump steak cooked rare side of medium: perfect. Chips the best this side of 1950! Excellent food, and wine list. Lovely atmosphere, friendly and warm. Best value in the area.
The Black Ladd – OldhamDeceptively modern on the inside, the Budda Lounge offered attentive service, tasty well presented food, if a little on the high side for Ramsbottom. A huge menu (possibly too much choice) with Cantonese and Thai favourites and more.... We opted for a platter of Thai appetisers followed by a curried lamb dish, the meat was so tender and delicately seasoned. One note to the owners, the smell of plumbing as we entered was a little offputting! We shall return again to try out the chinese menu next time.
