Just been for our first visit to Rofaza and were really impressed. The food was excellent - and lots of it! The service was very good and the prices really reasonable. We'll definitely be back.

Rozafa Taverna – StockportWe dined here on a busy Thursday night. The food was great - very tasty, well cooked and a reasonable price for what you got at c £6 for a starter and £15 for a main course. However we found the service poor as the restaurant was packed and there were only 3 serving staff. Whilst they weren't rude they were very abrupt when taking orders and bringing out food and catching their eye to order more drinks or get the bill was impossible. The other issue we had was that as the restaurant is so popular they have squeezed in too many tables and as such you are very close to neighbouring tables and can hear everything they say, fine if you are in a big party but prob not ideal for a romantic meal for 2. So good food but I wouldn't rush back as I think there are other good places to eat.
Lime Tree – DidsburyTook my girlfriend there for her birthday on the recommendations given by this website, and was completely impressed from start to finish. From the friendly and helpful staff, to the excellent food. I couldn't fault any part of it. Starters (sea food platter) was superb, steak was amazing and chocolate truffle cake was the best I've ever had. I'd give this place 10/10 and definitely go back.
Gaucho – Manchester City CentreWent to Wings as we were going to the Ricky Hatton fight at the City of Manchester stadium. Restaurant was pretty full to say it was 5pm. Food was outstanding. I loved all the little touches like putting the dim sum on your plate for you. They even made our duck pancakes at the side of our table for us. Food was amazing and service was even better. Will definitely be going back. The best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. Would definitely recommend it to everyone.
Wings – Manchester City Centrevisited kebabish for first time on 25/5/08, food and service were excellent, mixed grill a must
Kebabish Original Manchester Central – Cheetham HillWent to San Carlo mid week for my hubby's birthday. When we arrived the place was half full and already had a great atmosphere. By the time we left it was full to capcity. A really good sign mid week. Loved the food and enjoyed a large platter of shellfish to share. The only downside was our table. We were sat next to the waiter's station and were constantly interrupted by waiters leaning over us picking up peper mills and parmesan cheese etc. This did get quite annoying until the place got so busy that nothing was ever returned back to the station! Therefore I would make a point of not being seated near this area again, but apart from that a great place!
San Carlo – Manchester City CentreSorry to disagree with popular opinion. Having read its rave reviews we pitched up at the New Emperor on Sunday last and the whole experience was pretty depressing. One starter forgotten. Crispy duck was dry and had poor texture, king prawns in satay sauce had no flavour or seasoning, the brown gloopy sauce barely distinguishable from the fillet of slimy beef in ginger and black beans. Bland, bland, bland! Ordered a decent premier cru Chablis that was served too warm from cheap, horrible glasses. The request for an ice bucket for the sparkling mineral water that came at room temperature resulted in a wine cooler full of ice with the bottle sat on top. Clueless. Then the bill has 10% added automatically and the staff push you to add a tip when they bring over the credit card machine. It wasn't overly busy, but FOUR other tables complained about slow service or dishes that had been ordered but forgotten. The decor is tired. Don't often eat Chinese in town and if this really is one of the best, I'll stick to that policy.
New Emperor – Manchester City Centreafter reading various reviews on this site, i decide to treat myself and and members of my family today. unfortunately it did NOT live up to the reviews. the floor was dirty in places and the chairs were of all different types and styles. most of the potatoes were undercooked and so were the vegetables. the meat was passable, the only shining light was the rhubarb crumble pudding.when we pointed these things out, the waiter wasnt really bothered. my advice is think twice about booking a table at this place.
Isinglass – UrmstonFrom the outside, this place looks like a gym on a retail park but step inside - and you're in a different world. Cinnabar upstairs is great - but was empty when my friends and I went last Saturday. It really needs to have more people in it as the atmos is totally lacking upstairs. I thought the food was ok but nothing amazing - especially when we were charged £12 for ONE scallop - I kid you not. This place could be amazing but somehow manages to fall short of the mark.
Vermillion – MostonWe visited the Shere Kahn on Sunday 18th May 2008. We had excellent curries served by friendly staff. But to add to our enjoyment we spotted a certain American musician in the restaurant......none other than Jimmy Carl Black from the Frank Zappa band "The Mothers of Invention". Obviously the reputation of this fine restaurant has spread beyond Manchester.
Shere Kahn – RusholmeHave ate here several times with family and not been disappointed at any of our visits. Generally have mixed starter - ribs are to die for!! All our varied main courses have been excellent. All the staff are lovely, especially with our younger child, they really cant do enough for you. Surroundings are nice and the entrance is a bridge over a fish pond - lovely and authentic. Went last saturday there again this weekend its sooo good! This restaurant is a credit to thai cuisine - enjoy!
Jitrada Thai Restaurant – Salei must admit the food is to die for! sirloin and the garlic mushrooms is my favourite! i like the haddock aswell but the plate comes out very very hot and i always burn myself - once quite badly, silly old me! lol if a husband was as good a cook as the chef (dale) all women would be more than happy and vice versa lol i go here alot with my husband and we love it - service is always with a smile, unfortunately the desserts can be quite a wait and the bar service is slow especially if busy (and it's not that big of an establishment)- the service has gone down hill since we first starting going which was just under a year ago but i guess that's the owners problem, but believe me don't let this put you off good service is not the easiest to come by these days but other than that this place is fantastic! definitely go there and treat yourself or a loved one to some of the mouthwatering dishes available! 10/10 to the chef - he's a work of art!
The Old Bill – Oldhamwow This is one of Manchester's best restaurants. Really authentic and top quality thai food. Soooooooo reasonably priced 10 out of ten. It's hidden away on an upper floor in Manchester's china town. It's a real gem why isn't there more hype about it.
Try Thai – Manchester City CentreI have been going to Happy Seasons for longer than I care to remember. Moved away and forgot about it. Then five years ago went back for meal with my now partner who is Chinese. So maybe it can be romantic!!! Anyway I always thought it was good and he thinks it is the best value in China Town. Try taking somebody who can read Chinese, the Chinese menu has some great dishes not on the English menu.
Happy Seasons Chinese Restaurant – Manchester City Centrerecommend this place you must be mad. It's chav and vile. Would'nt be caught dead in there a second time. A girl could get a bad name being seen in there. I'm just insulted the door staff let me in they clearly mistook me for an coke fan that would welcome the advances sleezey men for whom a song comes mind. The great prentender. The food was ok. A lot of a certain type of person in here and it's not footballers and celebs.
Panacea – Manchester City Centrefantastic food, really tasty, lovely staff and very friendly, always a great meal, happy customers, bury.
Jewel In The Crown – BuryI went today and would NEVER go again! It must be difficult to find such surly, slow illiterate staff but they managed it. I ordered a salad which took ages to prepare and did not come with any salad dressing nor was any salad cream or mayo available. The vegetarian carvery was just help yourself to vegetables! I know that the food is cheap but that does not have to mean poor quality. I recommend going anywhere else.
Windmill – AudenshawI love Puccini's! My friend and I went along on a Thursday evening recently without booking and although busy - they did everything they could to make us feel welcome and comfortable whilst we were waiting. This truly is a family restaurant and as been there for over 20 years - you are made to feel as though you are part of the family! The salmon was amazing and so fresh, the wine list is huge! I would recommend this place to anyone - not overpriced, amazing food and service.
