Every time we go to Leo's we think we are still in Italy. ( our holidays finished last month !!!). Rossario ,the owner ,will always make us feel at home and he will recommend only the best fish or fillet in the house. We 've been going for so many years now that our son (He's only five!!)knows everybody in there. We really love the restaurant and if I start to think about their mussels in tomato and garlic or their Antipasto I just want to go to leo's now.

Casa Nostra is still the best italian in Bolton. After all these years nothing is changed. We went on tuesday nite and we reserved a table for four near the window. The service was excellent and the food even better. Me and my husband we like it so much that we go two times a week and every wedding anniversary. We do recommend this restaurant to anyone especially during the week (LIVE MUSIC!!!!).

Had a very nice meal here on Sunday afternoon. Daily bread starter, whilst simple, was very nice and well presented. Warmed small 'loaf', served with olive oil and balsamic on its own little bread board. Skewered chicken and baby back ribs were OK. Nothing amazing. Too much ginger on the chicken for my taste. My partners king prawn fajitas were excellent though. Beautifully cooked prawns in a very nice sauce. Excellent waiting staff, friendly and attentive. Only one criticism - girl at the front of house was miserable and uninterested. Fortunately our only contact was for her to show us to our table.

The first three times we had the Sunday carvery at the Bulls Head Hale Barns it was very good. The next time we went we had to clear a table ourselves and ask for it to be wiped. The food was not the same quality as previously. We overheard other patrons saying how it had deteriorated since the 'takeover'. We gave it the benefit of the doubt and went along again. Again we had to clear a table and I asked for a cloth to wipe it and was given one! I had a slice of beef and a slice of lamb and both were dry and very tough. The potatoes were dry, in other words it was awful. When we first started going to the Bulls head it was a job to find a vacant table however the last twice there was no more than a handful of diners therefore plenty of available tables.! Such a pity because it is local for us and for picking up our inlaws, etc. Evelyn Blackwell Hale

I visited just this evening after reading so many positive reviews. I must say I was disappointed. We were greeted by a very unwelcoming and unfriendly member of staff who mumbled that our table wasn't ready yet and that we had to wait in the bar. We had booked a week in advance, by the way. We waited in the very crowded bar for about 15 mins before another unfriendly and miserable waitress mumbled to us that our table was ready. We walked back into the restaurant area to be greeted by another customer trying to take our table! The waitress asked us if we minded, I said yes we do mind, of course we mind! But the waitress still decided to give our table to the oter customer, for some reason (!) and plonked us near the door. After that the rest of our time spent there was OK. The food was OK, no better than say La Tasca, and the staff were truely miserable, unfriendly and unwelcoming. I don't think any of us will bother going again!!!

I NORMALLY ALWAYS ORDER A CHICKEN TIKKA VINDALOO BUT HAVE FOUND IT TO BE A LITTLE BORING TO MY TASTES OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS. THE CHEFS AT THE SUHANA ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO WHIP UP A SPECIAL TO SIMILAR STRENGTHS. THE FOOD HERE IS SUPER, ITS THAT GOOD I WONT GO ANYWERE ELSE FOR A RUBY. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT AS BEING VERY VERY GOOD AND WHY GO TO THE CURRY MILE WHEN THE BEST CURRIES AROUND ARE MADE AND SERVED AT THE SUHANA GIVE IT A GO

Have just wasted my lunch hour at the 'all you can eat' buffet at Ning - a joke in itself as there was very little on offer and what was there was cold and bland, unless you like small, greasy spring rolls!! Not impressed and I'm still hungry!!

Unfortunately, I have just wasted £6 and a lunch hour at the Thursday Buffet Lunch. There was a lack of food at this 'All you can eat' Buffet. What food was available was cold and bland.

Terrible. My friends and I visited at lunch time for the buffet after reading the rave reviews and there was very little and sometimes no food out - not even rice. What we did manage to taste was cold and fairly bland. We received no apology for this and I have to rank it as amongst the worst meals I have had.

My partner and I held the celebration dinner after our Civil Partnership Ceremont. The staff were the best! The tables were decorated and placed to perfection and they looked after the whole party in really professional way. The food and service were very good and the the price, even for 50 people was very reasonable.I have no problem in recommending you to this 'Place of Perfection'

I recently travelled up to Manchester to spend a long awaited evening with some close girlfriends. One of our party had already bee to San Carlo and rated it very highly. When we arrived the atmosphere and staff were welcoming and all boded well for the start of an excellent evening - or so we thought. Admittedly the restaurant was very busy but mysteriously someone had managed to give our table away to someone who, they claimed, had made a reservation for a party of exactly the same number under exactly the same name. What a coincidence, or was something fishy afoot? Fishy was most certainly the order of the day as the swordfish (or what I assumed to be swordfish) in my mixed grill of fish had acquired the nasty sulphuric pungency of aging fish long since departed from the sea. My scallop was cooked to squash ball consistency and my tuna had been not so much seared as ironed on the linen setting. Oversized, underseasoned and overcooked is the only possible way to describe the giant cardboard frisbees masquerading as garlic bread. That said the salads were fresh and the ingredients liberally applied though regrettably not in the combinations we had requested. But the de "fin"ing moment of this fishy tale was the unbelievable rudeness of the staff who, once overbearingly obsequious and familiar, were now demanding that we vacate our table (and this despite us already requesting the bill and being there a mere 2 hours). Clearly £30 a head doesn't cut the mustard (or the tuna for that matter) at San Carlo. If you wont spend the brass (the bass was too poor even for fish jokes) then move over for some one who will.

Coriander was recommended to my girlfriend and myself by several friends which made our experience all the more disappointing! There was always the possibility that their take out cuisine would be lacking slightly in comparison to the sit down menu however that does not offer adequate justification for the sub-standard, bland, greasy dishes that were served up. My girlfriend had a vegetable Rogan Josh and I opted for a chicken Karahi with pilau rice. We were both in agreement that this ranked amongst the worst Indian take-out food we had ever experienced. My advice - stay away!!

Red Chilli is the best restaurant in Manchester. The ethnic food scene has survived and flourished whilst traditional restaurants have come and gone. Red Chilli is the only chinese that puts all of its homestyle dishes on the English menu. The food is authentic chinese- not a UK style MSG palace serving ribs, sweet and sour chicken and special chow mein. The fiery dishes are hot, the fish dishes are incredible- I have eaten melt in the mouth pomfret and fresh razor clams that were fine examples of the way that the Chinese serve fish so simply. The cold starters are a must, and there are dishes on the menu that truly adventurous eaters will love to take on. Even the service is exceptional- quick, friendly, and eager to recommend the best dishes. 10/10 and has been so since the day that it opened.

I visited the Olive Garden for the first time ever a couple of weeks ago with a friend - don't let the outside of the building put you off! The ambience and the welcome we received were second to none. The food was wonderful - even on an 'offer' night, though if you went all out it could end up more of a 'treat' than a 'pop in' experience. All the staff we saw were extremely attentive and friendly. Can't recommend it enough - I will be back very soon - can't wait.

My boyfreind and I went to Jem & I last night for dinner. I love the decor and the atmosphere there, however last night it was very quiet but it was a Monday night. I thought the choice was their biggest downfall, in that there was very little on their main dish menu. I ended up having two starters which were delicious and very filling with a side order of fries whilst my other half thoroughly enjoyed his fillet steak. They were short of wine which was explained as we sat down so we ended up with the House Red and that was very good. Overall we did have a lovely meal, but I thought it was quite pricey for a Monday nights tea, especially since I had two starters and we only had one dessert.
