Back up the lakes for caravan season H&F is our go to for sunday lunch. Best around. Always welcome food is outstanding. Need to come for evening meal as not done that yet. But we will have to remedy that. First class.

We come to this amazing pub frequently and are never disappointed. The Sunday roast was amazing. Roast beef and all the trimmings. Started with a wonderful home made game terrine. We had no room for desserts. The staff are great, friendly and super efficient. It’s such a wonderful pub!

On holiday in Keswick we travelled to Penrith to have dinner at Grants. The food was excellent! and worth the journey. Service was also very good. Only criticism was the lack of any atmosphere and the room/furniture which didn't make it feel special.

What a lovely old pub, and a great find. Had such a lovely visit. Staff were very attentive and pleasant. Met the new managers who were so helpful and accommodating. They've only been there a few months and are really working hard to turn this pub around. Doing a great job up to now. Definitely worth a visit and will look forward to going again. Food is homecooking, straightforward and great portions. Perfect quiet location to get away from busy Penrith and Pooley Bridge, bang in the middle. Easy bus or taxi drive. Looking forward to returning in the summer. Will definitely book ahead as this place will get so busy in the coming months

Had Sunday lunch whilst visiting the area. The pub is very old full of charm and character. The staff were very friendly and the roast dinner was huge and very good. We would definitely visit again and as they have rooms we would happily over night there and enjoy an evening in the bar.

The Horse & Farrier has become a firm favourite during our annual visit to the Lakes and has never disappointed. Our 5th visit was for Sunday lunch and the food again was truly awesome. We will now return on Thursday for the quiz. We can thoroughly recommend it.

The food and staff are both superb. The location is outstanding. Gemma is always particularly helpful & friendly. It's s proper pub with restaurant quality (or better) food.

First time at the Horse and Farrier Dacre and certainly won’t be the last . Lovley setting and well worth the visit . The food on offer was excellent and the gluten free options for my wife were very good. There was also a good choice on the specials board. Everything coming out the kitchen looked good so I knew we were in for a treat and we were not disappointed. From the starter to the desserts everything was well cooked tasted great good portion sizes so you were definitely not leaving hungry . The service was also excellent. If you are ever in the Lake District do not hesitate to make this a destination for great food.
