We (myself and partner) were running 15 minutes behind for Sunday lunch and so called ahead to inform. The voice on the end of the phone was short, abrupt and seemed totally uninterested. On arrival, we went to the bar area and met the young man behind the phone voice. We opted to sit outside as it was too overcrowded inside for our liking. "Good, that's better for us actually", he said. I came in to order food and asked if the large roast came with a Yorkshire pudding. "I don't know", he said. "Well perhaps you could find out for me if you don't mind?!", I said in reply. "I tell you what, I'll just add one on for you", he said before presenting the card machine to me having charged for the additional item. I was angered by his lack of common decency and subsequently changed the order however I was of the mind to tell him where to stick the reservation. He was totally unprofessional and in that particular front of house role, totally and utterly unemployable. The food was ok and the price reasonable. The service was beyond appalling. We do not intend to visit again and I shall be detering people from visiting in the future.
