Lovely home cooked food.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyCame here for a roast dinner on a Sunday but unfortunately at 5pm they had run out Ordered a glass of Merlot that was rather watery and was told to queue to change it at the bar. There was quite a long wait. My boyfriend had the mixed grill at at £23 it was hugely disappointing- the meat was over done and the chicken was dry. They forgot the beans, tomato and mushroom so had to ask again. I had the Thai chicken curry with was small and not much chicken at all. The waitress we had was lovely & very accommodating but I’m afraid we won’t be racing back :(
The Malthouse – TelfordSunday Lunch menu - poor No Starters - Was offered cauliflower cheese (which was on main meal) Meal was served swimming in gravy - never known that with any meal out! Disappointing as our local pub Staff were friendly
The Bull – ShrewsburyPopped in for Sunday lunch. My sons Raven burger was amazingly good! Before we’d left was eager to return! Be nice to see some midweek offers to encourage more frequent visits. Will return.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyThere is only one word to disscribe my meal at the swan shocking I had the full rack of ribs which the first rack I could not part they was that tough and burnt I was given a second rack which was hardly any better while the staff was helpful I’m afraid with food like that they was on to a loser
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordVisited on a Saturday evening. Experience wasn't as suggested it might be from the pictures. It was noisy and the ambience very much of that of a rowdy drinking pub rather than somewhere to take kids for a meal. Food was good, although they forgot to bring out the kids starters.
The Malthouse – TelfordBooked online only a day before wanting to attend. Got a lunch slot and we’re offered the choice of inside or outside dining. Decor of the restaurant was really in keeping and beautiful. Menu had lots of choice and was very simple to navigate. Food came out in the perfect amount of time. Not too quick where you suspect it may have been microwaved but not too long that the wait was ridiculous. The starters were really high quality and we were able to remove certain sauces to suit our taste, ie guacamole. The mains also arrived in a good time and the food again was delicious. The ribs were extremely succulent and were very filling. The dirty fries were amazing and were a meal on their own. Service was excellent and the tables filled up as the afternoon went on. We’ll definitely be returning.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordMind bogglingly foul mussels, weird tasting BBQ ribs and chips smothered in cheap truffle oil with coarse grated parmesan like it was cheese on toast. Don't even consider it. Since being taken over this pub does not do good food.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyAfter an afternoon of drinking in the sunshine, we were ready for something to eat. Waitress sat us outside, which was perfect as the weather was so lovely, gave us menus and informed us we would should order at the bar when we were ready. It was a busy evening and we were in no hurry, but the wait wasn't overlong and our table was cleared quickly between starters and mains. I can recommend the spicy wings and blue cheese dressing - they had a great chilli kick and the meat was soft and juicy. I stuck to scampi, which was lovely, crisp and not at all greasy, and came with big fat wedges. Hubby was happy with his black and blue burger and thin fries and my friend went for her personal favourite of the veggie curry. Bill came in at just under £55.00 , for 2 starters, 3 mains and a round of soft drinks - for 3 people on an impromptu Tuesday night, we were very happy with food, service and value for money.
The Malthouse – TelfordOne of the worst meal experiences we’ve ever had - won’t be returning! It started badly when we arrived and the manager immediately “set our expectations” by telling us they were short staffed and it was her first day as manager and that not all customers were understanding of this. She then continued to complain about other customers who were still there eating! After this, she sat us in the smoking shelter, which was filthy and we had a toddler with us! So we moved to a nicer table. We ordered straight away because we had a two year old with us so wanted to get his food delivered as soon as possible. To keep him entertained we ordered three courses off the children’s menu. After 45 minutes the manager came to say the chef had done all the food in one go, instead of starters arriving first. We said that was fine as we just wanted our food. She said it would be two minutes. A further 15 minutes later (an hour after ordering), our meal finally arrived. The food was fine but nothing special. We then asked for our little boy’s dessert and they then delivered the wrong dessert. They did voluntarily give us money off the bill as they recognised the service had been so bad, but it’s not enough to make us return I’m afraid. It’s such a shame because the venue is lovely and has great potential.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWetherspoons type food, would say none of it was prepared fresh on site more likely from a bag in the freezer.Flat drinks, puddings were just as bad.Don't waste your money go somewhere else.
The Malthouse – TelfordFood was fantastic, as was the service. Great options on the child menu for my little one and equally lots to chose from the lunch menu. Great atmosphere with chilled music playing outside. I would highly recommend this place.
The Malthouse – TelfordEnjoyed our meal. The venue was very nice with plenty of space between tables and outside area and garden as well. The food was well presented and portions good. Children were well catered for and staff were very obliging when one of the girls wanted a slight change to her choice of food. Be warned the burgers were enormous lol. Overall a good experience on our first visit. Will be going again.
Water Rat – IronbridgeDespite reserving an indoor table, we were told an outside table was booked. Eventually an indoor table was arranged. Waited a while for some service and eventually had to ask for menus. Quite a number of dishes not available and staff took order wrong and missed a dish. Would not go again.
The Malthouse – TelfordGood food and great service. We were a group of 11 and we were really looked after very well by very friendly helpful staff. Very nice atmosphere in a lovely location .
The Malthouse – TelfordFabulous !!!
