We booked a table for five people at 3pm on Sunday 2nd June. We were welcomed by very friendly staff who prepared our drinks and showed us to our table. We ordered three roast beef and one pork ( plus an extra yorkshire for my 94 year old mother in law - she didn't realise how huge they were ! ). My brother in law ordered the steak pie and mash. The meals arrived and were absolutely gorgeous. So much varied veg, nice amount of meat and plenty of gravy. My brother in law said it was one of the best pies he had ever tasted. Three of us managed a dessert. We were very pleased that we had chosen the Tilley as Sunday roast can be a little hit and miss sometimes. Thank you so much for a very enjoyable couple of hours.

Not the best experience. Out of hand drunks on the deck no one could sit out there, even after many complaints they were not asked to leave. Informed no cocktails even though advertised on the website and was given a cocktail menu. Ordered a very expensive ceasar salad not really worth the £20, which then took over 50 minutes to arrive. Poor experience unlikely to return

Second visit & once again average at best. Food was average & had to send one dish back twice as it was wrong. If you say it has a sauce make sure it does, don’t just throw something on & hope for the best. Service was very slow considering how quiet it was. As lovely as the server was she was clearly a little inexperienced. Took 20 mins to take drinks order, Light shades at face level, don’t know why you wouldn’t fix that Overall a little disappointing & probably won’t return

Food was amazing! hot, tasty and plenty of it, really friendly staff, clean and nice atmosphere, would definitely recommend trying food and drinks at the Tilley Raven.

Booked last minute the night before, both my partner and I had the beef cheeks to start, absolutely delicious, then I had the beef wellington that was cooked to perfection, my partner had the sirloin steak and she told me that was one of the best meals out she’s had in a long time, it was very busy but the service was great! I would highly recommend eating here, and to finish off we went next door to watch a band called (Touch too much) they were brilliant, all in all we had a fabulous evening

We met up with a friend for lunch last week. It was a very wet day but we were made to feel very welcome, with attentive and friendly service. The food was fine and there was plenty of it. The Piri piri chicken was moist and delicious and the Thai sweet chilli salmon was also very good. We will probably return one day.

Great Food and Lovely Staff will definitely be back when we're next in the Area.

Couldn’t fault the food it was lovely, however the service wasn’t the best. We had our meals and it took ages for the plates to be collect (and it was quiet). When our plates were eventually taken we wasn’t asked about dessert menu, so after a while my husband went and got another pint and asked about a menu and was told they would bring it over, however it was never brought to us and by that point I was too annoyed to ask again! I’m not sure we would go back again after that. The staff weren’t impolite but needed training I think! Shame the service let down the wonderful food!

First time visiting however we went with family who have visited previously. Our family members both agreed the food from their previous visit was better. Enjoyed the tacos however found the nachos quite dry, pretty sure the guacamole was missed off so had to order some of that. Ladies toilets were absolutely dreadful, both myself and sister in law decided to use toilets elsewhere. I don't think they had been cleaned from the bank holiday weekend to be honest, couldn't see at all in the one cubicle as there was no light and the other had not been cleaned (not just a light clean needed either). I'd visit again however the toilet situation did put me off, the staff were nice enough but didn't appear to want to be there. Shame really as I've wanted to visit for a while!

Distinctly average. Booked a table for two on Bank Holiday Monday expecting it to be busy. It wasn't but we still had to wait an hour for our food. We ordered the signature Pies which were nice but nothing special, accompanying "Hand Cut Chips" were tasty but needed crisping up a bit (after an hour?) and broccoli was undercooked. Draught Beer was off due to a faulty pipe. Staff were friendly and apologised for delay in meals arriving but didn't offer an explanation. Better options in the area for similar prices.

A lovely little pub set in a beautiful countryside location. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely return

We booked a table for 5 (4 adults and 1 child) for 5pm on Bank Holiday Monday (27th May), we were camping nearby (Worfe Camping) and we enjoyed a lovely walk down to the Smokey Cow. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. During taking our food order the staff did nervously explain that they were low or out of stock on some items. We did not mind at all as they had been honest straight and offered us several options as alternatives to replace veg for example. The food absolutely did not disappoint and was very tasty. Excellent value for money with fantastic portion sizes. The quality was second to none. We all including the 6 year old throughly enjoyed 3 course meal. The staff continued to demonstrate fantastic sense of humour and superb knowledge of the menu to advise is and offer suitable alternatives. We all left with very full bellies following our hearty meal and we highly recommended The Smokey Cow. Thanks to the chefs and front of staff for making our already enjoyable holiday even more memorable and gor ensuring we were all fed. Excellent value for money, good quality, superb staff. The little one enjoyed a quick play on the play park before leaving too. Toilets clean.

Excellent food and service, would have given full marks but we were the only two people in there so felt a little flat in terms of atmosphere! The nachos was excellent, large portion enough for four people! Great value for money!

Food amazing!! 10/10 service horrendous staff too busy on their phones pay no attention at all! Such a shame nice place amazing food! Reluctant to return purely for awful service!

Since the renovations the Malt House is so lovely and a joy to visit. Fabulous food, good value for money with plenty of options on the menu. The staff are much better now, they are always pleasant and attentive, which wasn't always the case before. All in all the Malt house has upped it's game

A lovely Sunday lunch, with fabulous vegetable selection. Great desserts. Staff and service were spot on.

Had a great Sunday lunch here yesterday (26th May). Food delicious and staff very friendly and professional.

We thought the food was amazing. My partner said it was the best steak he's ever had. Service was sometimes slow and I think maybe that's because of staffing levels. The staff were amazing though and did their best.
