Had a lovely evening meal here, with our dog. Some imaginative items on the menu, cooked to perfection. We particularly liked that our conversation wasn't interrupted to be asked 'is everything all right with your meal?'. It was the tasting menu evening so the staff were busy, and we were ordering from the standard menu but were well looked after. Nice informal atmosphere.

An excellent meal. Started with artisan breads and sticky pigs, followed by steak and ale pie and pork tenderloin. Both were cooked to perfection and served well. The pie must have been superb as my wife does not order pies and thoroughly enjoyed her meal polishing off the lot. The pork tenderloin was served with dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal veg and was delicious and tender. The apple gel was sharp and cut through the rich flavours perfectly. Many thanks, we’ll definitely be back to visit.

Amazing food and atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming and food orders were taken promptly and on the table in good time. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the presentation was very appealing on the eye. Would definitely look to come back.

Went for a Sunday roast, amazing food and service!

Family dinner for father's day. Excellent service, excellent food.

Booked a table for Father’s Day for my husband, me and our two young children. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Theres so much on the menu it was hard to choose, we ended up having roast dinners. Best roast dinner I’ve had a long time, loads of meat with huge Yorkshire puddings and the dauphinoise potatoes were amazing. Everything tasted like it was cooked from scratch. The kids had a burger (slightly too herby for my very fussy son) and chicken dippers which were homemade. We’ll definitely go back.

Booked a table for four on line which is so easy & convenient. Meal was excellent, food was fresh & well presented. Service as always excellent. We sat in the conservatory which was lovely. Staff very friendly and we shall be returning

Unreal food….fantastic service and beautiful venue….will 100% be back

My husband and i once again visited the Water Rat for a meal on 13th and we were not disappointed. We have enjoyed many meals here and we especially appreciate that we can order from the childrens menu with no quibbling, unlike some other restaurants

Excellent meal, nice friendly atmosphere and service. I had the paella special which was wonderful and so large that I couldn't quite finish it (unusual). My wife had the ribeye steak and asked for some extra veg instead of the chips advertised with it. The steak was cooked perfectly to her liking, and an inventive range of veg appeared. We'll go again.

Disappointed with the steak, it was laid on top of some overpowering tomato chutney which I wasn’t a fan of. It would be better if that was on the side as it ruined the steak. Apart from that we really enjoyed our evening and would definitely come back.

Lovely evening, with great service, great food and really nice atmosphere. Thought the White Hart lost its way a while ago but decided to give it another go and it’s certainly back now.

Stunning food served promptly and very reasonably priced

We regularly go for Sunday dinner at the last inn and we can’t fault it. The food is lovely, staff are friendly and it’s reasonably priced.

Went for Sunday dinner. Really friendly staff. Food wasn’t the best. Missing items. Food not hot only warm. Spuds rock hard. Meat more fat than anything else. Wouldn’t bother again.
