I regularly dine at this pub. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Came for Sunday lunch to celebrate family birthday. Good to see the pub busy. We were advised at time of ordering it might take up to minutes. Food did take a little longer than normal but was within the 40 minutes. The Sunday lunch was great, good portions, hot and very tasty. We all enjoyed our visit, thank you to all staff.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by all members of staff. Drinks and food ordered and these arrived promptly. Food was piping hot, well-presented and tasted delicious. If I had one complaint it was that the hot food was served on cold plates. Having said that we would certainly visit again
Alvanley Arms – TarporleyWe have often called in during the week, but this was our first Sunday dinner at the Plough. It was excellent. We got a friendly welcome and prompt service. I had a roast beef dinner and husband had turkey. The meals were hot, very tasty and huge! Eight different vegetables including the biggest roasties ever! Thanks to all - we both fell asleep when we got home!

The food was superb and they obviously have a very accomplished chef. We had the set lunch menu and it was difficult to choose as all sounded lovely. I started with haggis which was delicious then I had liver for my main course and it was melt in the mouth. My friends had the chicken and they said it was perfectly cooked. The service was excellent and the ambience was lovely. I can't wait to dine there again!

Service this time was a little slow (we were a last minute big group booking), however they more than made up for this by bringing us a free share platter to keep us going! Staff are friendly and helpful, as said in a few reviews the music is a little loud, meaning having to talk quite loudly which isn’t easy in a bigger group. Otherwise perfect. We will be back ☺️

The Carriers Inn – FrodshamSunday lunch 26th jan 2025. Was quite nice. Roast lamb lovely but roast potatoes dry. Too much broccoli but cabbage and carrots nice and gravy tasty. Service good an liquor coffee lovely. Be better if they told you what the veg would be then one could choose which to have. Didn't have dessert so cant comment on that. A pleasant experience over all
