I come here every month or so. Usually pretty consistent. Had duck legs this time and struggle due them being dry and firm . Also note I don't have dessert here any longer as the creme brulee used to be good but became very poor.

Love this place. Great food and service as ever. The staff are brilliant, so welcoming. Fabulous cocktails. Went in a party of 6 and had a lovely evening

It’s been a while since I’ve fine dined … I took my olde folks for a celebration meal & was blown away by the experience.. what a wine list, great food & presentation… & best of all the slick & impeccable service … 5 stars all round . My thanks to Mike, Paul & team .. chin chin Guy

I took a few friends to the Mere Court Hotel for my birthday. The surroundings were lovely and the staff very attentive without being all over you. The tables were nicely laid out and we ordered our choice of a selection of teas. The cake stands came out - 2 between four. The scones were all right but there was not enough cream. I thought the dish was for one not between two. The little cakes on the top tier were very uninspiring. I only ate the bakewell which was very tasty but rather small. I was told the lemon drizzle was not lemony enough. It was really disappointing as the ambience was lovely but the food was not up to par really. Only 2 other couples were in that afternoon.

Three of us has Sunday lunch in the afternoon. Great service and absolutely delicious, plentiful food.

Very nice staff helpful and polite. Food was hot and served well. Very tasty and reasonably priced for an early evening dinner. Could of done with Greek music instead of Irish it didn’t really go with the restaurant.

Sunday lunch was not as nice as usual , items like mash, vegetables and cabbage were lukewarm which was a disappointment but as we were hungry we put up with it. Also service for drinks being ordered was very slow

Our group of 9 enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch at the Carriers inn whilst visiting Delamere Forest. The service was very good and all staff were professional, polite and attentive. There was plenty of choice on the menu to suit all of our party. Food and drink orders were taken after we had all had a chance to view the menu and our choices were served in a timely fashion Our meals were presented to high standard. All our meals were delicious . Thank you.

Disappointed restaurant was cold on arrival and didn't really get warmer while there. Worse day of the year weather wise and no fires lit. Table for 8 we were cramped in the corner not comfortable while the rest id the restaurant was empty am sure there was a better table we could of had. Food was nice enough. Disappointed as it was a family meal for my mums 81st birthday spoilt the day really as expected better.

Have been several time and found this time bit disappointing seem they have cut back on amount of fish put in the seafood clay pot didn’t even have one prawn … shame really always raved about the place but sorry bit of a let down plus problem with the Gluten free menu

Four of us dined here on Saturday evening 4th October 2025. The menu was varied with some usual pub food such as fish & chips/Hunters Chicken. What we ordered was tasty. For a Saturday evening the main dining area wasn't busy at all which affected the overall atmosphere. It was a cold & very rainy evening, and it was also quite cold inside the pub. One of our number uses a walking frame, and to get from the main car park into the pub was very difficult and a lengthy process. I think the owners may benefit from providing some car spaces directly adjacent to the pub for blue badge holders/disabled people. Because of the lack of such facilities our group cannot return with this person.

Always reliable quality food. Shame the creme brulee when from good quality to poor. But all mains and starters have been consistently good. The waitresses and waiters are nice too.

Never fails to exceed our expectations. We will be back

A charming venue for afternoon tea. We received a very warm welcome, attentive service and tasty, beautifully presented food. Will definitelygo back again.
