I dine here quite often. This time we fetched our 14 year old grandson. He was delighted with his meal and surrounding. Has asked to come again.

The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichGreat menu, great food and great service. Reasonable prices.
Pacino’s – ChesterI love this restaurant. Staff are so obviously trained to a high level where they're able to answer questions without running to the kitchen to check; where attention to detail is highly important and where special touches like cheese straws with truffle mayo, complimentary breads and petite fours are served on the house. So many restaurants fail in all of these details and really could benefit from a visit to this establishment to see how pleasurable dining should be enjoyed.
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldI had duck which was spot on. One guest had liver which she enjoyed. The other had steak (note only rump option) which was ‘OK’ We opted for two deserts, unfortunately both ‘sticky toffee pudding’, which was Luke warm and had the consistency of a brick with minimal ‘toffee’ on top. We made our feelings known but don’t think it was fed back.
Alvanley Arms – TarporleyVery enjoyable afternoon. The food was excellent and the waitresses very helpful and friendly.
Mere Court Restaurant – KnutsfordAlways excellent service, excellent choice and great food. Thank you
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldWonderful place for lunch, great food and wine. Second room quite loud and echoey but we moved to the front room when a table became available and it was great.
Cafe De Paris – NantwichWe visited the pub prior to a planned visit to the shire horse centre next door. We have been to the Alvanley Arms before and enjoyed it so we booked it again. It is such a nice place. The location is great, the interior of the pub is very cosy, the food is very nice and the staff are helpful and friendly. It is the third time we have been to the Alvanley Arms and the shire horse centre this yeat and wish we could go every week.
Alvanley Arms – TarporleyI am a frequent visitor to Mere Court hotel and have always enjoyed the food and hospitality. From the moment you arrive the atmosphere is welcoming and well-appointed, reflecting a commitment to quality and guest satisfaction. Every meal I’ve had has been beautifully presented and full of flavour, clearly prepared with care and high-quality ingredients. The staff are another highlight—always courteous, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. They go out of their way to ensure that each visit is comfortable and enjoyable, creating a dining environment that keeps me coming back. Whether you’re visiting for a casual meal or a special occasion, the Mere Court Hotel delivers an experience that exceeds expectations. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent cuisine paired with outstanding service.
Mere Court Restaurant – KnutsfordExcellent service - best pizza I have ever had. Lamb was an excellent also. Very cheap!
Elmas Restaurant – LymmThis was our second visit. We stopped off for a meal on a long drive home. The pub is a lovely environment and very clean, and the service is friendly. Unfortunately the pork belly was dry, and the dish overall was too heavy. I did want a pie but there was no alternative to steak and ale. We were considering a dessert, but waited 25 minutes after finishing our meal with the table not yet cleared before deciding to pay at the bar and leave as there was no server attending us.
Alvanley Arms – TarporleyWe had a Sunday early evening meal. We were impressed with the service and the quality of the food. The portions were large and we would go for the smaller plate option next time. Maybe then have room for dessert. Four of us had the mixed roast diner and one had the vegetarian option. We chose the Alvanley Arms because of the wide selection of vegetarian dishes available. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Alvanley Arms – TarporleyStaff were very helpful. My granddaughter 's meal wasn't what I ordered for her which was roasted chicken breast, mash and peas., Instead chicken was chargrilled, a mixture of veg and mash, which was the only thing she ate.
Alvanley Arms – TarporleyMe and my family went for the first time on Saturday, hands down the best breakfast in Nantwich. So quirky and unique with there way on breakfast, we will 100% be returning and this will be our new breakfast spot. Highly recommended.
Cafe De Paris – NantwichFabulous food and great service as always!
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldHad a fantastic meal and a very relaxed experience. Service was good and the prices were reasonable.
Panama Hattys Restaurant & Bar – TarporleyHaving been visiting the White lion for over 15 year as it’s are local pub there has been a disappointing deterioration in the quality of food and the presentation, we do continue to visit but again disappointed on Friday , the salad dressing is now just olive oil it’s just some salad leaves no tomatoes cucumber onions, which for the cost of the starter we feel is poor . There was no table mats or cutlery put on the table till after the starter had been delivered and it’s wasn’t busy at all . The spot light was faulty over the table facing the wrong way making the table dark when I asked could it be turned to face the correct way was told there waiting to get it fixed . We will continue to visit but would love to see a return to better quality food and service .
