The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeBooked online for 7.30. Arrived at 7.20 to be told table not ready but have a seat won’t be long! Finally got seated at 7.50 and after ordering our meal arrived just after 8.30! The food was extremely good but service absolutely shocking! Staff haven’t a clue who is waiting for tables. Sorry but won’t be returning and can’t recommend!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWhat a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon tea we had, so glad we found out about Augill Caste, great setting and made for a very memorable afternoon.
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenSo good, food very good, service excellent, we were with American friends and it was a lovely experience for them. Lee it up.

Pheasant Inn – KeswickSpent a lovely day in the spa with my two daughters as a 30th birthday celebration. The staff were amazing and friendly. The massage was fantastic. The spa it's self.is great, clean well set out and wasn't over busy so gave you time to chill out will definitely be back

Pheasant Inn – KeswickAnother excellent night, lovely food, beautifully prepared and presented, served by friendly a nd knowledgeable staff
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithWe visit Keswick a few weekends a year and always eat here for our evening meal on the 2 nights we stay which is always amazing service and food, however on Saturday 16th this wasn’t the case. Staff were very stressed as you could clearly see and seemed short on staff, but that shouldn’t mean it effects our experience, the table was booked for 7:30 and we’d still not been seen to by 7:50, asked the manager if we could place our order and he looked at us as though we were an inconvenience and said ‘I’ll be with you in a minute’ 10 minutes later there was still no one back to take our order but we’re serving customers who were seated after us, in the end we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. We’ve never had an issue here before the staff are usually always on with it and friendly and it’s always been a great place but last night was extremely disappointing.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThoroughly enjoyed Mezzaluna, excellent service and wonderful food. Would recommend for all. Lovely place to eat and always welcoming.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe enjoyed our two meals at Lewis's. The food was cooked well and portions were reasonable. Something on the menu for both of us. The staff were friendly and service good. One personal reflection was that the choice of desserts didn't quite chime with the nature of starters and mains. While sticky toffee pudding is popular and I can see why it would be on the menu, the other selections were also very sweet and heavy eg treacle and lemon curd tart, eccles cake with treacle (theme here?) cheesecake and chocolate cake etc. Perhaps less treacle?
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent restaurant, our waitress was lovely and very helpful. The portion size was large which we appreciated after a day hiking. Everything was beautifully cooked and we had an excellent bottle of wine. Would highly recommend. Will definitely return here in the future.
