The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeStayed one night midweek. Enjoyed evening meal and breakfast. The food was we'll prepared and presented, generous portions very filling. The environment is that of an old coaching Inn, exactly what is required.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely traditional pub with great atmosphere and good selection of beers good value pub food served by friendly staff Lovely beer garden to the rear
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsWhat a great place ...great food...great staff..xx
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleI have eaten at the Horse and Farrier a couple of times and have always found the quality and service to be amazing. Having an intolerance to onion and garlic I often find eating out challenging, but the chef is always willing to make adjustments, making sure I can have what I would like! This attests to how freshly made the food is. I look forward to every meal we have here, thank you.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithExcellent meal, good host. The place deserved to have been much busier.
Goody Blake’s – GrasmereHad a meal in the hope and anchor on Sunday afternoon, very easy to book online, food was delicious and good value, I had liver and bacon the wife had the creamy garlic chicken breast and both were very good portions and cooked to perfection, what let the meal down was the time waiting for meal to arrive and also would of had dessert and further drinks but no-one came near our table to clear it or ask if everything was ok, so we waited I don't know how long and just went to the bar and paid what I thought was a very reasonable bill so to summarize 10 out of 10 for meal and value, but 3 out of 10 for service
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsGreat food, service not so good, ate here Sunday, food was delicious and really good value, however service was very slow, we waited ages after we finished eating to have the plates cleared and order dessert but no-one came so we went to the bar and paid our bill and left
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsWe went here for Sunday lunch whist on holiday. The staff were lovely and friendly. The food was amazing compliments to the chef and although we would have liked a pudding we were too full. I have never seen such large Yorkshire puddings on a Sunday lunch. We would thoroughly recommend this pub to anyone. Lovely food and excellent value for money.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe always enjoy our meal in the Hope and Anchor. Liver & bacon is delicious Thanks see you next time
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsFantastic food and excellent service. Would highly recommend the fish platter and all the food. I have visited twice in 2 weeks and amazing both times
Sage and Vine – CarlisleGood food, excellent service and reasonable price, what more could you ask for. Will visit again when in the area.
Greyhound Inn Cotehill – CarlisleLovely meal and excellent service really enjoyed it
Greyhound Inn Cotehill – CarlisleCame to the Pig and Whistle on 8th of May for a family meal while on holiday. We have been to the pub many times over the years as we regularly visit the area. This was by far the best visit yet!!! We had the area to ourselves due to the number of guests in our party and the staff were super! The drinks selection was excellent with an array of delicious cocktails and local beers. There was a new menu and there was something for everyone! At our table we had ‘reef n beef’ ‘pie-eyed’, ‘el - jefe’ ‘waffle on’ and a full selection of bao buns, The food was fantastic….beyond our expectations…our only disappointment was that we were at the end of our week’s holiday so couldn’t book again! Looking forward to next time! Thank you PS it’s a shame we can’t add the pictures!!
Pig and Whistle – CartmelWe always go to La Mezzaluna when visiting Carlisle from Glasgow. The food and service has always been good. The prices are reasonable and the restaurant is very handy for the railway station. On 17 May my wife and I had dinner for my birthday. After an enjoyable meal we noticed a substantial over charge on the bill for both food and wine. It was corrected without fuss but had my wife not noticed I would have paid and been around £20.00 out of pocket.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleLovely people, lovely food, lovely atmosphere. Great all round. unpretentious, friendly and efficient. All at a reasonable price. Nothing more to be said.
