Quattro’s – OrmskirkWe’ve been going to Quattros for over 20 years. Always the same amazing quality of food and drinks. Lovely atmosphere of a fully lovely restaurant even on a Tuesday in January. Fabulous as always.
Quattro’s – OrmskirkExcellent food and service.
Papa Luigis – ChorleyCame for my daughters birthday with family. Despite it being a Monday night there were a few people about and the atmosphere seemed chilled and homely. The food was delicious, everyone loved it. The service was great and the older Italian gentleman was fantastic, when he found out it was my daughters birthday they brought out some cake with a candle in and got everyone singing "Happy Birthday", even the table next to us joined in. I thought that was a really nice touch. Could not fault anything, will definitely be returning.
Quattro’s – OrmskirkAmazing! We came to celebrate my birthday with family and had an amazing meal, staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome. Food was excellent!
Quattro’s – OrmskirkWent for lunch in the week, the food was fantastic and at a good price. All the staff provided excellent service and Franco could not do enough for us! Will definitely be returning soon.
Verdes Restaurant – Chorley3 of us went for brunch having a selection of food and drinks. The staff were very friendly and allowed us to dine at our own pace . I have marked the Atmosphere down slightly simply because we found the front conservatory, where we sat, a little noisy.
Maxy Farm Pantry & Restaurant – PrestonExcellent food and service. We all enjoyed our meal and drinks. Thank you to all you staff who worked well and are very friendly and helpful. Thanks we’ll see you again Mike
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleWe really enjoy the Traders Arms, the food is always fresh and the menu is always reliably good and the staff are always polite and attentive. The only, what I would call “bad” (probably not the right word) excuse was yesterday 26/01/25. A party of 26 were in for a birthday party so our food and others around us had to wait an hour till our meal. No one actually told us how long our food would be. If this was to happen again it might be a good idea to offer a bowl of crisps or free soft drinks maybe???
The Traders Arms – BlackburnOne of my favourite easy eating out destinations. Lovely atmosphere, great food, great service. Please don’t ever take the Malaysian Prawn Curry off the menu it’s to die for!
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallFirst time we have eaten here and we will definitely be back the food was top class absolutely beautiful and incredible service
A’Vucciria – RawtenstallMy sister recommended Sunday lunch here, saying it’s the best she’s ever had. It must be popular because we could only book for 6pm. We had the lamb shoulder and the belly pork and both were exceptional. Really flavoursome and savoury. The accompanying veg were delicious too. I especially loved the buttered greens. A bit of crackling might have been nice with the pork belly though. I wish we had room for dessert! We hope to return very soon.
Bread and Butter – PrestonFood was great, but I have to say service was very poor.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallAs a family, we visit The Whitchaff every time we pass through Rossendale. I am originally from Rawtenstall and haven't lived there for almost 20 years now. The service is amazing, the food impeccable and so reasonably priced. The only restaurant I have ever visited multiple times that consistently delivers on every level. See you again next month!
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallAs a small group of close friends, pre-covid we would visit Shepherds Rest every year on or as close as possible to, the 5th of Jan for a “Last Day of Christmas” meal. This year was the first time we’ve managed to honour the tradition since 2020! The restaurant didn’t disappoint, five adults and two children shared two yorkie boards (1 beef, 1 vegetarian) with an extra wrap and side of veg on each board and there was more than enough food for us all. Desserts all round, a couple of bottles of whine, a few beers and some soft drinks and the whole meal was just £200, which was excellent value. The staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful and attentive (they pushed our table half an hour when some of our group got stuck in traffic) and clearly took pride in their workplace, which was lovely. We spent almost two and a half hours on our meal and never felt rushed to clear the table. It was an excellent - of belated - end to our Christmas season and seeing some of the amendments they’ve made to the menu, as well as the outdoor family area and pizza cabin, since our last visit well definitely be back for a few more visits during the year.
The Shepherds Rest Inn – TodmordenWe visited for Sunday lunch, not having been in the inn for some 20+ years. The Crook hand pump ale was excellent. Sunday lunch consisted of roast beef with roast and mash, yorkshire pudding and vegetables and lashings of superb gravy. The beef was wonderful, as good as any that I have eaten and very much better that lots. This was a beautiful plate of food, served in a timely manner by very helpful staff. I would, and will, be very pleased to go back to try it again.
Ship Inn – LancasterVisited here at the weekend as we were staying in the area. Overall very disappointing- firstly they couldn't find our reservation then we were seated and waited over 30 minutes to get menus. During this time there was an altercation between the ?manager and 2 ladies who had complained about the food being cold. The way this man shouted at the customers was dreadful. At least 3 other tables who arrived after us were served and eventually after about an hour we got our food which wasn't very hot. Meat very fatty, vegetables over cooked and roast potatoes reheated/refried. Extra gravy came in a ramekin as opposed to a gravy boat that other tables got. There was an offer on for 2 meals for £20 which was just as well as we would not have paid the £18.50 per head! Staff were disorganised with only one seeming to know what was going on. Whilst we were waiting for our food the chef was in the bar chatting to someone. We did express our disappointment in the food but nobody came to talk to us about it. Given the attitude of the manager to previous customers it was a blessing in disguise I suppose
