Great authentic Italian restaurant that has recently re-opened. The menu has been tweaked but remains pretty much the same which is a big plus. Good atmosphere and great food, the ribs are especially good as are the steak dishes. The only negative I could find was that the courses were a little rushed with hardly any break in between which made us feel like we were being a little bit rushed. The food is excellent and the prices reasonable, £80 for 2 people for a 3 course meal (both had fillet steak) plus coffee, a decent bottle of red wine and a couple of Peroni's!

Just about the most fantastic restaurant we have ever come across. It is so easy, clean, service is great and above all the welcome you get is the best. All the staff have a great respect for the customers, the food is just fantastic. This restaurant pays particular attention to detail.

just been to the Rigbye for dinner. Food was very average, and overpriced. They had obviously overbooked, so the service was appalling. We waited 45 minutes for pudding, and on complaining were told that it wasn't true! Probably ok for a quiet pint when it's not busy, but not to be recommended for anything more sophisticated than that!

Although the food is OK (ALL sandwich based) BEWARE! If you eat here you and your clothes will stink of roasting meat for days!!!!

After reading positive reviews on this site, we were extremely disappointed by our first experience of Laughing Buddah last night. The starter, hot and sour soup (£5), was far too thick with the consistency of sweet and sour sauce. It contained shrimp, rather than king prawns as described on the menu. My main course, Kung Po, was mediocre, as one might expect from any Chinese take away. My partner ordered a curry dish, which was also disappointing. Although the portion sizes were generous, this restaurant is very overpriced in light of the substandard quality of the food! The menu was confusing with far too much on offer, Gordon Ramsey would not be happy! Spend your money elsewhere, like Fuzion in Fallowfield - great and original food!

Positives - good atmosphere, tasty starters negatives - the worlds most uncomfortable chairs, warmed-up veggies

We've been three times this year and the service and food has been very good. The last time however (Fri 22 Feb) the service was slow and the food had been sat under a grill for some time before we received it, causing my gravy on bangers and mash to turn to a jam like consistancy. My girlfriends salmon had been burnt and dried by the grill. I think and hope this was a one off bad chef night as we will definitely return again in the future

I retired from my NHS job yesterday, and booked for 10 friends/colleagues to share a meal at Gio's last night. We were seated in the window facing the Midland, and it was tricky for half of us not to be able to leave the table without making everyone on our side stand up, but what a great vantage point from which to watch the world blow by in the noisy gale beating up the world outside. The food was good, and reasonably priced, but the best things about this restaurant were the attentive but not intrusive staff, efficient service and lively ambience. It was so central for all our buses and trams home. I look forward to going again with my family, and I hope it will be soon. Thank you for your good humour, and for giving us the perfect place for my send-off. Jenny Daniel

We had our Christmas meal here and the food was wonderful. parking is a bit of a pain, but that's soon forgotten as the restaurant is very small but cosy and the staff are very helpful. price was good and quality of the meal was great, i loved the menu and i would definitely go back again for another special occasion.

Azzurro Restaurant – Didsbury

A wonderful homely restaurant with a really warm and welcoming atmosphere. The new owner, Sammy, makes a great effort to ensure that the customer is entirely happy and encourages all the staff to do the same, recommending particular dishes that you might like to try. We particularly enjoy the new lunch time menu. The Fegatini di Pollo as a starter and the Spiedini as a main course are particularly good

Little Italy – Hale

The food here is terrible, as is the live music, do not go to this place if you like food, drink and live music!!

Our favourite restaurant. The service is fantastic and friendly. The food is lovely everytime we go with a wide choice on the menu. As long as you book in advance you can always get a table.

i love barburrito, and was really pleased that this chain opened up another store in the trafford centre. this place consistently serves fresh, vibrant, healthy Mexican fast food at unbelievable value. First timers cannot go far wrong with a shredded beef burrito, black beans, lime rice and salsa verde. This does me just fine every time i visit (which is about twice a week). At five pounds for a meal and a drink you cannot go far wrong here! The only slight grumble would be the limited selection of drinks (the usual soft drinks, beer and margaritas) - but I guess this is a fast food restaurant - and i don't know many fast food gaffs selling beer. Manchester deserved more places like this.

The food was great, once we'd been seated, but the service left a LOT to be desired. There were about five long, rowdy "Happy Birthdays" sung by the waiters. Shame they didn't put as much effort into being as welcoming to other customers; as the jolly atmosphere felt false due to our initial treatment. I booked a table for 9pm. I don't mind waiting, especially on a busy night, but there was nowhere to sit in the bar and it was swamped with people just drinking. I politely asked how long the table was likely to be; and was looked at as if I'd just kicked the waiter's mother. When I tried again, he said that if I approached the manager with the same question, I'd probably be asked to leave - because the staff were working hard and didn't need the hassle. I really wasn't in the mood for a fight - but he clearly was. It was just bizarre. My main impression was that because they're busy, they're arrogant. It really put me off. I write restaurant reviews for a living, so get some closure by having a platform for my views; but not everyone has that opportunity. So, in short, I wouldn't recommend it on a Friday or Saturday - however good the food is. There are plenty of other restaurants in town with equal quality in ALL areas of service.
