We booked a table for 8 people, 6.30pm to celebrate 2 birthdays. Pre-ordered meals as requested to help the team out. However, our requested meals were not printed and given to the chef/kitchen beforehand. We were told that we couldn't have some of our chosen meals as the chef hadn't cooked enough. We then still waited an hour to get any food . We are regulars at The Alvanley and although disappointed with the service on this occasion, we will still go again. Such a shame communication between departments put a dampener on our celebration. Food was good.

Fabulous food & place. We went for the set dinner menu - excellent value & choice Friendly attentive staff & never felt rushed - great at topping our wine glasses up. Highly recommend & will definitely return

We had a wonderful Friday lunch. The food was delicious and the service top notch. Proper fine dining restaurants seem to be so rare these days, and Bacchus is definitely one to return to. Thank you!

I took my mum for a meal before we went across to St Mary's Church, Astbury for a heritage open day. We both had steak and ale pie - it was stuffed full of meat and very tasty - best pub steak and ale pie we have ever had anywhere. Service was excellent and friendly. We have had several family meals here before over the years and it has always been good.

Very disappointed with our experience yesterday. I booked online for 2 pm. We ordered drinks and food within 10 minutes of arriving and 10 minutes passed and still no drinks had arrived. We were told that there would be a half hour wait on food. There was a party of 30 dining and the kitchen staff clearly couldn’t keep up with the number of meals to be served. To summarise, the service was terrible as there were hardly any staff and we waited an hour for food and 25 minutes for drinks. 2 out of the 3 meals had uncooked chewy cabbage. I would not recommend dining her at the moment until this has been resolved. Such a shame as have been dining here for over 30 years and never had a problem !

Lovely venue. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. Great Gluten free options. Good easy access for the infirm. The food was excellent and I will be returning now I live locally.

The food was amazing and staff was excellent and attentive. Was dog friendly which we had two with us. Such a lovely looking restaurant and price wasn't bad for the amount and quality. Xx

Service was absolutely spot on! Couldn’t fault it. The food on the other hand was very average. We were a table of 8 people who had a variety of the menu including the surf and turf which was the toughest steak they’d ever eaten! We won’t be returning!

Lovely decor, comfy seating with plenty of space. The staff were efficient and friendly and the food was delicious. It is quite loud and echoey, and being a Saturday night it was quite busy. This made conversation across the table difficult at times.

Family get-together at Pacino's, booked on line weeks ago, studied menu on line and knew what I was going to order before I arrived. Crab cakes for starters was delicious and the red pepper salad; perfect. Main course: Salmon & prawn tagliatelle with bottle of red could not have been better. The staff where attentive and friendly. All seven of us chose different items from the menu and I heard nothing but praise for the quality of the food. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff who where working during our visit and I can confirm that should we visit Chester again, we will definitely be dining with you. Thank you.

Absolutely stunning food, we had the charcuterie board and the croque monsieur - really generous portions good value for money. The sparkling wine was also excellent! Great service & relaxing atmosphere.

Been to Mere twice now .Once for Afternoon tea and the 2nd time for Sunday lunch. Enjoyed both visits immensely. Food was beautiful and plenty of it. Staff were lovely. The only criticism we have is that service can be a bit on the slow side but the food certainly makes up for the wait.

My party of 7 had a wonderful meal. The service was very effective and also friendly and relaxed. We were not rushed at any point. The Sunday lunch menu had so many delicious options all perfectly prepared. Overall an exceptional lunch. We will definitely return on our next UK visit.

Been several times now. Enjoyed it every time.
