Sunday lunch was not as nice as usual , items like mash, vegetables and cabbage were lukewarm which was a disappointment but as we were hungry we put up with it. Also service for drinks being ordered was very slow

Alvanley Arms – TarporleyOur group of 9 enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch at the Carriers inn whilst visiting Delamere Forest. The service was very good and all staff were professional, polite and attentive. There was plenty of choice on the menu to suit all of our party. Food and drink orders were taken after we had all had a chance to view the menu and our choices were served in a timely fashion Our meals were presented to high standard. All our meals were delicious . Thank you.
The Carriers Inn – FrodshamDisappointed restaurant was cold on arrival and didn't really get warmer while there. Worse day of the year weather wise and no fires lit. Table for 8 we were cramped in the corner not comfortable while the rest id the restaurant was empty am sure there was a better table we could of had. Food was nice enough. Disappointed as it was a family meal for my mums 81st birthday spoilt the day really as expected better.
White Lion at Alvanley – FrodshamHave been several time and found this time bit disappointing seem they have cut back on amount of fish put in the seafood clay pot didn’t even have one prawn … shame really always raved about the place but sorry bit of a let down plus problem with the Gluten free menu
Panama Hattys Restaurant & Bar – TarporleyLovely food nice staff and a lovely setting will be going back again when in this area again
Alvanley Arms – TarporleyFour of us dined here on Saturday evening 4th October 2025. The menu was varied with some usual pub food such as fish & chips/Hunters Chicken. What we ordered was tasty. For a Saturday evening the main dining area wasn't busy at all which affected the overall atmosphere. It was a cold & very rainy evening, and it was also quite cold inside the pub. One of our number uses a walking frame, and to get from the main car park into the pub was very difficult and a lengthy process. I think the owners may benefit from providing some car spaces directly adjacent to the pub for blue badge holders/disabled people. Because of the lack of such facilities our group cannot return with this person.
The Cheshire Yeoman – Ellesmere PortGreat food, excellent service as always
Panama Hattys Restaurant & Bar – TarporleyExcellent food as usual, but sorry the waits for drinks both for ordering and service were close to unacceptable and well below their normal standard
The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichAlways reliable quality food. Shame the creme brulee when from good quality to poor. But all mains and starters have been consistently good. The waitresses and waiters are nice too.
Elmas Restaurant – LymmNever fails to exceed our expectations. We will be back
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldFood was excellent good value very tasty. Staff were very friendly.
The Cheshire Yeoman – Ellesmere PortA charming venue for afternoon tea. We received a very warm welcome, attentive service and tasty, beautifully presented food. Will definitelygo back again.
Mere Court Restaurant – Knutsford5 star
Pacino’s – ChesterWe had a lovely afternoon tea here on Monday 29th September. Everything was very nice indeed and the service we got from Annie and Maria was faultless. We enjoyed the offering and as it was a gift I can't say anything about value for money as I don't actually now the cost (we had the traditional afternoon tea) but I have had better ones - this one was in part quite 'basic' but still very enjoyable so if not overly expensive definitely a good choice. The only factor that 'spoiled 'it a bit for us was the fact that the actual room it was served in although lovely to look at was so cold! I think they need to realise that at this time of year some more elderly people (like ourselves) will be starting to feel the cold and it was a large and more or less empty of other people room.
Mere Court Restaurant – KnutsfordHad an Afternoon tea on Monday 29 September being coming here for years and the Afternoon tea has always been lovely but this time the food stand came and it looked meagre, two tiny pieces of drizzle cake two tiny pieces of cherry cake and one very small macaroon, scones were fine but meagre sandwiches, room was nicely decorated but very noisy because there was a Conference on we usually are seated in one of the small rooms, on a plus side the two Ladies serving are lovely but they were badly let down by the poor display of an Afternoon tea !!!
Mere Court Restaurant – KnutsfordReally nice Sunday roast meal. Starters were of good quality and service was good too. Pleasant atmosphere and a homely feel to the place. Would definitely return again.
The Cheshire Yeoman – Ellesmere PortWe had an excellent time here on Friday. The restaraunt accomadated a large party without issue and were attentive to us during our family event. The food was excellent and they were understanding that our youngest family member needed to have a wonder to keep him occupied. We will be visiting again and would definitely recommend to others. Thanks for having us!
