We had salads which were lovey. The weather was extremely hot but there was a pleasant atmosphere as everyone was sat outside. Food great. Staff lovely.

Can’t fault this place. Food is exceptional and service is amazing. First time I’ve been but I will be back. Thank you to all who provided us with a lovely evening.

Food was really nice, tasty and really hot in temperature. Service was poor, was asked what drinks we wanted then waited ages as forgot to tell bar staff our order . Waited quite a while for food, longer than expected with amount of people in pub. Finished meal , waited a long time for plates to be taken away, then long wait for dessert. Felt sorry for girl/ woman as seemed to be running around doing everything, other staff didn’t have a clue. Told them to remove service charge as didn’t think it was up to standard they should be doing

Excellent meal once again. Some of our party were first time visitors and loved it. Excellent value for money and very attentive and helpful staff.

A lovely warm welcome and very good service! I had beautiful tempura prawns and my husband has smoked salmon and crab. For main course we both had halibut, I thought mine was delicious, my husband enjoyed his but thought it was slightly overdone

We always have a wonderful time here! The wine selection is fantastic and the food is truly excellent. I highly recommend the new mushroom pate! The staff are always so friendly and welcoming which helps add to the already great atmosphere.

We came on Wednesday for afternoon tea. We were left in a very busy bar ( wedding guests), and had to remind someone that we were still waiting. A lovely table in the window, but atmosphere spoiled by staff prepping for the wedding. The sandwiches were fine, as were the scones, but the selection of cakes/pastries was dire. It bore no resemblance to the promotional photo. I know it was Groupon, but we expected a better standard from Mere Court. We have already sent an email to Mere Court but have had no reply.

Excellent friendly service, great food, and very good value for money. The steak was very tender and all the food we ordered was well presented and delicious!

I have enjoyed food from here many times (both eating in and take outs)...... very high level and tasty. Unfortunately, last 3 occasions have been poor. Tonight I was not provided with the onion chutney I had requested. Previous week I ordered at 8pm saying I want at 10:30pm --- it was there at 10:30pm, but tepid at best! I think the taste is excellent but they need better control.

A meeting with good friends and a place that we have visited alot in the past. The venue is still as lovely and we all enjoyed our lunch. It was sad to see the place so quiet for a Friday lunchtime and very unusual fof what is usually a very busy pub.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at The Alvanley Arms yesterday. The roast turkey was delicious, my sister had the scampi. The dessert was equally delicious, i had the lemon tart and my sister had the profiteroles. On the downside, when emailing my booking, i mentioned that my sister uses a wheelchair. The lady informed me that the system dose not recognise this, which is strange. As it happens, Anne can get out of the chair(she is able to walk short distances), and was able to use the steps(anyone wheelchair bound would not be able to do this. It was suggested that i could book by phone in future. On the service side, we were served promptly, however, when it came to ordering dessert, the lady who took our plates, did not ask if we wanted dessert of coffee, and despite looking at us several times, did not come to ask if we wanted to order dessert, and i had to go to the counter to order. This aside, it was a lovely meal and a lovely atmosphere.

Food was absolutely scrumptious really enjoyed our meal - 1st visit will be back!
