My wife and I recently dined here on our "date night". Staff were warm and welcoming. They led us to a comfortable seating area and gave us time to order dinks, which arrived quickly. We we're soon seated at left momentarily to peruse the menu. We had a sharing platter to start and then a main and desert. All portions were generous and tasty. Staff were courteous and friendly. The combining factors of quality food, great setting and professional staff made our date night extra special. This location is one hour from our home and we'd definitely travel here again, it's that good. The cocktails are worth a mention too, very generous in size. So to the team on the night we visited, you absolutely nailed it - well done.

A true gem! Having travelled down from West Yorkshire twice now to visit family, this restaurant has become a must-visit for me. Both times, the service was impeccable – friendly, attentive and efficient. The food itself was absolutely delicious, and the cheese pie is insane! Beyond the quality of the food and service, the atmosphere is also lovely. I'm already looking forward to my next visit over the Christmas period! Five stars across the board – highly recommended.

Once again we enjoyed a truly wonderful meal on Sunday. The whole experience was so enjoyable from the moment we arrived to leaving, some 3 hours later. The menu was modern and exciting but with enough traditional dishes to cater to all tastes and the food was cooked to perfection. The staff were all exceptional and the customer service was subtle, friendly and very professional. I don't think you can match the quality of the food, ambience and value for money anywhere else locally. Highly recommended.

On our visit to Cheshire we popped into The Plough on a few occasions both for a drink and some food. Service was very good as was the selection of food and quality.

Had a lovely experience on Saturday evening, took my daughter and her family out to celebrate her 40th. The birthday celebration has become a family tradition at PH and we had another great night with fab food and wonderful service. Now my grandchildren love it there as well.

Lovely food and great service

First time here for a family Sunday lunch. There was a nice selection of roasts and I really appreciated the option of a small adult portion. Staff were very friendly and service was timely. We had a nice visit with tasty food in a comfortable atmosphere

A perfect Birthday Lunch for my mum-in-law with my wife.... Lovely, cosy setting... a warm welcome and wonderful friendly service to add to what I have to say is one of the best pub meals I've had in a long time. All three of us had different dishes and we all loved them - I'm biased, but I'd say my Steak and Ale Pie was the best of all.... stunning! We'll be back soon with our daughter.... as new owners policy regarding children has changed.... I was turned away when I first moved to the area as I had my (then) 8yr old daughter with me at the time..... 5 years later cam back to try as Jess was at school and to my pleasant surprise saw the change of policy on the menu!!

Lovely place to eat. Was quiet when we visited so atmosphere probably not at it's best. Service was great with staff members very attentive. Food was extremely good . Both of us had the homemade Steak and Ale Pie and was impressed. Food would have been a 5 but had to ask for Starter to be heated up as soup was not over hot. Staff where courteous and sorted this straight away. When it came back it was piping hot and delicious.
