Food was great, pasta dishes especially! Staff were friendly and always on top of asking if you need anything else or another drink etc. Lovely space and atmosphere, already can't wait to go back!

This was the second time that the 6 of us visited Grants, last year the food was first class. The same could not be said this time. Out of the 6 of us, 2 thought the food was good, 1 said it was OK and 2 said the food was poor.. In my case,most of the lamb dish I had was poor and some of it was inedible. I pointed out to the man and then to the lady running the restaurant that the dish was poor. both said. Sorry but made no other comment. The second complaint was about a beef dish which lacked any flavour. Compared to the previous year when all the food was first class this was a disappointment to all of us.

We had two American visitors and wanted to give them an authentic pub experience. The atmosphere, food and service was perfect. Thank you to all at The Pheasant.

It was a delightful experience from start to finish. The food was excellent. The service was exceptional- personable and helpful with the menu on items we weren’t familiar with. Also, our daughter was vegan and she was very happy with her meal. The ambiance is exactly what we expected- cozy and lovely decor.

We are regular customers at your pub dining most Sundays, this Sunday we were quite shocked and disappointed to be asked to vacate our table under the pretext that the table was wanted by another diner and we had spent 90 minutes eating our meal. Although we had just finished eating but having declined a pudding and coffee, we still had wine to finish. We find that this is unacceptable as service was not particularly quick having had to wait for our starter and main course, had we ordered a pudding we would not have had time to consume it in a leisurely fashion. I must confess that this has never happened to us in any other dining establishments that we have frequented on many occasions and as stated before we are extremely diss appointed in your establishment. I might add that other diners of two persons who were already seated before us were still remaining at their tables when we left the dining room. Mike Fisher

Superb food, as always. Never had a bad meal at The Wheatsheaf. Sunday dinner's are the best (nut roast is lush and hubby is a huge fan of the beef). I'm an IPA fan and there's always something on draft that I love. Dog friendly too which is a bonus. The staff are always warm and welcoming. If you're in the area and looking for great food at a reasonable price, then I'd highly recommend The Wheatsheaf. Booking is essential as it gets really busy, but it's simple to do online or with a quick phone call.

The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff were chatty, cheerful and service was great. We’ll definitely go back.

Food was fine had Sunday lunch, however the service was terrible plenty of staff, but they just seemed to be walking around missed empty plates and glasses, waited ages for a drink and had to ask twice if we could order food, it was busy but I have seen it busier, the manager was not there, he is usually really good very disappointed

Looking for somewhere for Sunday lunch while on holiday , I must admit this did not come up on our searches it was just by chance we had passed it the day before , Requested a table fir 6 , and wow the food was fabulous service very good and lovely atmosphere, I would definitely recommend 100% thankyou for the lovely welcome.

The best Sunday Dinner we have had in ages. I had Chicken and my husband had Beef, both were perfect and included tasty vegetables and massive Yorkshire puds. Very good value, good service and Great tasty food. Highly recommend.

Just a quick note to let you all at Lewis Bistro that we all had a lovely evening on Friday last. We all thought the food, service and atmosphere were all to our liking and when we visit our girls again will most certainly be back. Frank, Gilly, Simone and Lyndsey who are both Ambleside girls.

we arrived early as I got the time wrong but the staff couldn’t be more accommodating. The restaurant is beautiful and so welcoming and the food is delicious, we will deffo be back x

Generally a very nice establishment. A quiet Sunday evening booking for our party of five. Service and food excellent, small menu well balanced with a special . Would recommend. Toilets very clean/well serviced.

Went to the Pig and Whistle to try somewhere different and so glad I did. The menu was small but had something for everyone. The food was cooked perfectly and the staff were polite

We are regular visitors to Keswick and the Pheasant is one of our favourite pub/restaurant. The food is delicious, well presented and extremely good value for money. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the staff are attentive and welcoming.
