Pig and Whistle – CartmelWhat an unusual and great place. Had pizzas and wish we could come another time to sample rest of menus , but we live in Yorkshire!
Farmers Arms – UlverstonThe pub was very busy, which is a ood sign they are doing good things. My wife nd I both had the T Steak & Stout pie with chips with lashings of hot gravy. We have called in the Wheatsheaf on a number of occasions on our way returning home from the lake district. We have always had good meals with exceptional pleasant, cheerful and helpful staff. It's always a pleasure to stop for a meal here on our way home from the lakes. It has a large car park which it needs due to all the people wanting to use the Wheatsheafs facilities. However, at busy times some people have to park in the adjacent streets. Will definitely call in again.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely food and very friendly team. Portions are very generous! Will definitely return.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAlways excellent Superb food, friendly staff.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAlways my favourite Italian .. great food and lovely staff
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleLovely food served by very friendly and helpful staff. Will return again soon. Thanks to the whole team.
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalOn a stopover in Carlisle we looked up “Places to eat near me” on google and found this fantastic restaurant near to where we staying. We couldn’t have found anywhere better. The service was excellent and the food was great. We had a margarita pizza and beef lasagna washed down with a lovely bottle of wine.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleA wonderful dining experience in this cosy bistro. The menu offers a wide variety and is reasonably priced. The staff were both welcoming and efficient. We enjoyed our first visit so much that we immediately rebooked for later in the week. Making a reservation in advance is recommended as they were fully booked on both occasions we dined there.
Lewis’s Bistro – Grasmere5 star

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeBrilliant service, fantastic service, couldn’t recommend it enough
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereDined early September on our wedding anniversary. The food was lovely and service was fine. Yes it is a small establishment but there was plenty of room and the atmosphere was great. We’ve already re booked. Looking forward to our evening.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFabulous atmosphere and a great meal. Will be happy to return.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickGreeted by very welcoming staff. The food was lovely.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithWe were staying in Keswick for a long weekend when the Pheasant Inn was recommened to us. The earilest we could get a booking was on a Sunday which we booked. However, we decided to go to the Inn on the Friday to see if there was a cancellation, when a local offered to give up their table so we could have a meal which we gratefully accepted. We also managed to book a meal for the Saturday for 4 people after the Llandlords juggling of the tables . All the staff at the Inn were extremely helpful and the other diners were very friendly. I had a different meal each night which I thoroughly enjoyed. Unfotunately we do not live in the Town so cannot make it out local.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe have been going to the Queens Head at Tirral for a good while now, and every time we are really pleased with Service, Food, Atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly We love going
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithWhat a great find super atmosphere. Walking distance from the Rydal Hall campsite . It was busy but we had booked and were seen to straight away. Really enjoyed the beer and the food. Not the best vegetarian choice - curry too hot - but enjoyed what I ate. At the end of the night it was a treat to see the badgers.
