Farmers Arms – UlverstonWonderful meal. Excellent staff, very helpful and friendly. Restaurant is very relaxed. Only downside was a dog, think it was a cockerpoo with its owners on the table next to us. Not very well behaved, jumping at the table and getting in the way of other customers, shaking and staring at my wife and I when eating. As I say only downside but you cannot account for some dog owners!!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe meal was excellent. Veg were perfectly cooked as was the Steak and Ale pie. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. The entire hotel is highly recommended for food, service and accommodation.
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalWe had a delicious dinner at The Pheasant Inn, hot food succulently cooked with lots of fresh cooked veges. A great atmosphere for enjoying good food and wine. Throughly recommend this pub restaurant it’s much much better than most.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent food and service
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithFriendly staff, prompt service and lovely food - we will be back!
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleMy wife and I both had the steak. It was cooked to perfection and was a lovely piece of meat. The rest of the meal was very good. The service was also very good.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithExcellent food, service and ambience !!
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalWe thoroughly enjoyed our lunch of sausage and mash and sticky toffee pudding. Delicious! Wonderful food and atmosphere, highly recommend the Badger Bar.
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalLast night of our holiday, had booked on recommendation, certainly not one of your swish plastic funky pubs, in fact gives the impression you have just walked into a 1900’s front room. Don’t be put off all pleased to see you. shown to your table, judging by the next 90 minutes very popular. Service prompt, food outstandingly good prices in line with most decent eating establishments. Unfortunately not on our doorstep being 300 miles away, but if you haven’t tried I suggest you do. Pheasant Inn – KeswickLewis's is the best restaurant in Grasmere, indeed I would say in the area. The food is always seriously good. The wine is carefully chosen and always pleases. Service is spot on. Tables are cosy, intimate and comfortable. Everything about this small unassuming restaurant is first class. My partner and I always book when we're in the Lakes and there's the rub, you have to book, theyr'e often fully booked , that says everything.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLovely wee pub, great food and friendly staff. We booked dinner here while holidaying on the area and weren’t disappointed. Quick service with a smile, tasty food and reasonable prices. Would recommend!
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsBooked a table at The Pheasant to celebrate my birthday on the last day of our holiday. The atmosphere was great, the welcome warm, and the food and service amazing! Food was also value for money as the portions were good. We have already decided to come back to Keswick next year, so The Pheasant is definitely on our list for a return visit! Thank you for a lovely meal.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe came because of an article in the Guardian online on lesser known parts of Cumbria, and I'm glad we did. Best pub we visited by far. Food was delicious - the chips in particular are really good, although everything was tasty. It was our last night of holiday but would definitely return another time.
Farmers Arms – UlverstonGreat meal at The Pheasant . Good portions . Great food. Good service.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickOverall, probably the best place to eat in Penrith town centre Could have happily chosen anything on the menu Very well put together dishes, perfectly cooked and brilliant presentation
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithLovely food, really good atmosphere with friendly locals and staff, would highly recommend
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsCame across this little gem of an in-dependant restaurant on our last visit to Grasmere in April and were well satisfied. On our most recent visit to Grasmere we ate there each night working our way through the menu. We have not been disappointed. Well cooked food and friendly staff we could not ask for more.
