Thoroughly Enjoyed. Ate here as a couple in July 2024. The food, service and drinks were all amazing. My husband asked for the Thai curry with added chicken and they were happy to oblige. He said it was the best he’d ever eaten. Wine freezing, lots of gins to choose from. Lovely corner table. Highly recommended.

La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe visited the Wheatsheaf after booking a table online. We received a warm welcome & shown to our table. We asked to move table as we were meeting friends & preferred to sit nearer to them. Nothing was too much trouble. Our order was taken, drinks delivered to the table & our food followed. Great service, tasty food & reasonably priced. Will be returning soon to try more items on the menu. Highly recommend.

Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithBooked a table for 3 Thursday last. Waited nearly an hour for overpriced mediocre food. Steaks good, rest of the meal poor. Chunky chips ? What a joke - I'd say frozen chips, then deep fried, even gave me the blackened/bruised ones! Steak pie was good, chips as before, one piece soggy broccoli, one piece cauliflower couldnt cut into. No one asked if we enjoyed the food, we sat nearly 10 minutes after eating to finish drinks and plates still there. Wouldn't recommend.
