Absolutely superb couldn't fault in any way.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAfter a long drive from Scotland, this was just we needed. The food was well served, less oil on my mozarella and tomato and the food would have perfect
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleMy friend visited Penrith for the first time and we really enjoyed the food and service. She is gluten free/dairy free and the staff were very accommodating with GF bread, a starter option and offered a DF option to accompany the monkfish. Lovely experience - I shall be back.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithCharming bistro, cosy and friendly. The food was amazing, especially the steak. Would definitely go back.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWonderful meal & superb service as usual
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithService was fantastic, unfortunately quite a few menu options were not available, what was even more disappointing as we were eating at just after 6pm, so wouldn’t have expected 4 dishes to have sold out. The salmon dish was lovely, as was the fish and chips. However the falafel burger was disappointing. The burger was bland and the ciabatta bun was so hard, my daughter was unable to able to eat it.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeA nice Bistro which does what it says. Provides a varied menu in an easy setting with good food
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithWe booked for an 80th birthday party. As there were 16 attending we pre ordered starters & mains. The service was faultless, and everyone got what they had pre ordered. The food was lovely, with not one complaint from our party. The chef even made a nice plain cheesy past for the kids, which wasn't on the menu. Can fully recommended.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleFirst time visit and would highly recommend. Each course was delicious and of high quality, service friendly but not intrusive. A must visit in grasmere
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereGood food, nicely presented. Very pleasant and helpful waiting staff.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent food, attentive staff. One of the best fish pies my wife says she’s ever had. My steak pie was delicious, only criticism is there was not enough veg between 2. Would definitely visit again.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickLovely old pub Food and service very good (although they had ran out of their signature fish pie !) Portions are large
Pheasant Inn – KeswickLovely outdoor area upstairs, staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Service was good. The food was delicious, everything we ordered was very good indeed, and the prices were very reasonable. The only down side was that the tables were physically very small, close together and we were quite cramped, my chair was not very comfortable. Other than that, an excellent choice with highly recommended food and staff.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWow!!! this was our first visit to the Pheasant Inn, the food was beautiful, the service was amazing and the pub was clean and so friendly and welcoming, every single member of staff were kind and helpful. I had the best steak I have had in years and they were very careful to suitably cater to our gluten free requirements. Fantastic service even though they were also incredibly busy, thank you so much!! 100% recommend!
Pheasant Inn – Keswick31st May 2023 Had a great 3 courses in LEWIS’S last evening. The atmosphere was very chilled and relaxing while the service was very personable and cheery. The food was excellent - from the black pudding starter to the STP with a locally sourced succulent & perfectly cooked fillet steak right in the middle. Highly recommended as a treat on any stay in Grasmere, booking essential to secure a table and avoid being disappointed........which you will be if you don't visit (IMO)
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereA superb meal (excellent rack of lamb and pork belly), in comfortable surroundings, with attentive and thoughtful service. Will definitely go again when we're in the area.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent food and service.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe Sunday lunch at Harry’s at Yew Tree Barn was absolutely superb. Quality tender perfectly cooked beef and delightfully crispy Yorkshire Pudding but it was the vegetables which really exceeded our expectations being deliciously prepared and finished with tasty seasonings and were dishes in their own right. The Pavlova dessert was beautifully presented and delicious. Being local we have eaten at most of the well know country Sunday lunch restaurants in the Lake District and we both agree that Harry’s is simply the best. We will be back and can’t wait to try out the new evening supper menu.
