Very disappointing to find that having ordered that there was no ham available for the ham and eggs main course.

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLovely pizza's as always. Nice friendly staff
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleAs always the food was top notch. The staff are always happy and helpful. Sometimes a little to helpful, when you don’t really want a desert but get talked into it. I have to say I’m pleased I was talked into it as the chocolate cheesecake was the best I’ve ever had. Don’t know how they make it so light. I would definitely recommend this little gem of a restaurant.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleLovely comfortable stay, very nice breakfast. Look forward to our next visit.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely food fast service highly recommend
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleEnjoyed the food and atmosphere at this lovely place. The staff are so friendly and attentive too. We tried to book for another evening but it is so popular that we couldn't get in - the best evening meal that we had during our stay in Grasmere by far; highly recommended.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereBrilliant afternoon tea, not classical but a lovely mix of savoury and sweet. The venue is such a lovely place and we felt very welcome. We loved everything about the tea and the afternoon.
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenLovely to have a hot savoury in the afternoon tea. The food was delicious. The staff could be heard arguing in the kitchen during the course of the afternoon however this did not detract from the afternoon as we quite like to people watch and eavesdrop in on conversations.

Lewis’s Bistro – Grasmere1st visit to Mezzaluna and was not disappointed, really enjoyed the meal, prices reasonable and felt really comfortable to sit in. Staff were friendly. Will definitely be back.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleCan't fault it. Had Sunday lunch, the Jan and the veggy option. Both were really nice. Good portions. Lovely point to go with it. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Would recommend.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLewis's is a gem. We enjoyed the food and the ambiance and the attentive staff.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe had a fabulous afternoon at Augill Castle on the 8th May celebrating my 60th birthday with an afternoon tea. We were given the option to sit inside or out due to the beautiful sunshine. The garden is set up with furniture and umbrellas to allow shade. The castle and grounds are spectacular and the views are wonderful across the Cumbrian/Yorkshire countryside. The food is hand made, great choice of savoury and desserts which on every occasion has been outstanding. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We have been several times and stayed over. This is my favourite place and worth the 1.5 hour journey from our home in Lancashire. Excellent value for money too and is well worth the experience. Will be back soon. Thanks to Augill Castle for my making my 60th birthday trip so fabulous !! Donna
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby Stephenwe came in for Sunday lunch as the pub was highly reccomended. ordered roast dinners for me and the children and my Wife ordered lamb shank. The staff were friendly and helpful. When the food came, my wife’s lamb shank was extremely tough and also very pink to the point of being raw near the bone. My roast came with one slice of beef which was dry and tough. The vegetables were excellent. A couple at the adjacent table bought two large dogs with them and proceeded to feed them with them sat at the table - i’ve never seen this in my life before! ( obviously not the pubs fault but none the less i couldn’t believe what i was seeing) Shame the food was poor as the pub was lovely with a nice atmosphere. perhaps we were just unlucky and they were having an off day.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent birthday sunday lunch at the Punch Bowl. Best roast beef I can remember having. Service was professional and efficient. In a lovely and quiet part of the Lake District
