Lovely food and good atmosphere. We were in on a Wednesday night for Pizza night. The new menu was unexpected as the link from Sugarvine sent us to an old menu but we weren’t disappointed. Staff were superb and the beer was great too! Booked again for Saturday brunch as the brunch menu also looked amazing and we were very glad we did. We found this on Facebook which seems to be more up to date as stated in the previous review. The Crown in Hash was so good and the sharing breakfast was a challenge for my other half who’s eyes were greedier than his stomach. Thanks to maisy and the waiting on staff for great service.

This is the first place we come to once after we’ve had a long weekend walking and wild camping for the incredible meat pie. The service is always amazing. Our favourite place in the Lakes! :)

A pleasant over night stay with Good Food, Very polite service, Cousy Accommodation and Good Value for Money. Will be back.

We has a delicious meal at the Wheatsheaf last saturday evening. the staff were very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. the food was very good and just the right amount in terms of portion sizes. it was our first visit to the pub and overall a very good experience and we will certainly be back in the near future.

Wonderful gem of a restaurant. Food was delicious; we had the scallops which were lovely, the pork belly was cooked to perfection. Service was delightful. Highly recommended!

Really nice....as always!

We arrived at the castle on a cold gloomy May afternoon and in no time we received a very warm welcome and were invited to sit infront of the roaring fire on very comfortable seating. In no time we were served tea and coffee followed quickly by our afternoon tea which was lovely consisting of Chilli puff , chicken and mozzarella wrap which were nice but not what we expected with an afternoon tea, the soup was hot and delicious and the scones and cakes were simply Devine, nicest scone I've ever had ! The setting and castle are out of this world even with snippets of historical information dotted around the lounge which was a nice touch. The staff were all very nice and genuine and friendly. We will be back and look forward to our next visit to this wonderful castle. Best wishes Max & Lesley

Alway amazing food and freindly service

I had the risotto de pesce and, unfortunately, got bad food poisoning from the fish. The garlic focaccia was delicious and the prices are reasonable but I was very sick after my visit, so I am unlikely to dine here again.

Very disappointing to find that having ordered that there was no ham available for the ham and eggs main course.

A nice bistro, very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, good food and a good range of choices.
