Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe have eaten Sunday lunches at the Wheatsheaf on several occasions recently and really enjoy them. We find the food excellent both quality and value, the staff are lovely and the ambience in the dining/pub areas is perfect.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeHad a lovely Sunday lunch. I chose the small portion which was more than adequate while the male members of our party had a regular portion. The food was nicely cooked. I particularly enjoyed the vegetables which were cooked ‘just right’. All the staff were very pleasant. My only criticism would be the side room lacked the atmosphere of the main bar.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent food and service. Thank you.
Plant by Kat’s Kitchen – KeswickI went to the spa and had some light lunch after - absolutely loved the whole experience
The Netherwood Hotel and Spa – Grange-over-SandsFantatstic, accommodating staff. Very helpful. Food was delicious and supported by wonderful pints of Jennings Cumberland Ale. A real find just outside of the centre of Keswick.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickA really nice cosy place to eat, although it’s small you don’t feel on top of each other, food was exceptional, freshly prepared and very tasty, scallops were divine, and I’m not sure how the carrots were done but for me they were the star of the show! I had forgotten to ask on my departure how they were cooked, so maybe on reading this review perhaps you would respond? Delightful experience thank you very much to all involved .
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereA wonderful find. Staff, food and atmosphere excellent. Will definitely be coming again.

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereGreat menu, and all meals were thoroughly enjoyed by our party of 8. Staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating, and we were really pleased to be able to eat there twice in our short stay in Keswick. Excellent all round.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe had a fabulous meal at Lewis's I can't fault the food - it was superb, up there with one of the best meals I've ever had! The service was friendly and helpful too, all requests were met and more! I would not hesitate to recommend Lewis's.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereSo came in for dinner two nights in a row which I think kind of speaks for itself. Yes there are lots of pubs in town where you can go and get something to eat in the evening but I think The Pheasant just has a few more options on the menu that makes it stand out as a great traditional pub to visit. Oh and the beers on offer are decent too.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickHad a lovely meal, great atmosphere, would have booked to go again if we were staying longer. Will definitely be back next time we visit Grasmere.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereA really lovely meal in a lovely bistro with a great atmosphere and service. We will definitely be back.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereBooked online, table for four, confirmed promptly by email. Lovely homely atmosphere. Log fire. Good selection of beers. No starters due to staff shortages, a common problem unfortunately. Order taken quickly and food arrived quicker than expected. Between us we tried the aged steak and the venison. Both beautifully cooked and presented. Chips were perfect. For dessert we had cheesecake, gooseberry & apple pie and lemon posset. All were delicious. Waiters very friendly and helpful. Only (minor) issue is that, although Wifi is advertised on notice outside as available, they wouldn't give us the password for some reason I couldn't quite understand. Certainly not a deal breaker but as mobile signal is almost non existent it might matter to some. All in all a very pleasant evening. On my list to do again.
