The Netherwood Hotel and Spa – Grange-over-SandsWe enjoyed a wonderful three course dinner at Augill Castle - the menu was interesting, curated and just delicious. The beef daube was a particular highlight and the staff were so attentive and friendly . Would highly recommend!
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenVery nice cosy restaurant and very busy, certainly when we were there. The menu has a set number of starters, mains and desserts and doesn't appear to vary too much. We both enjoyed our meals despite one of us being given the wrong main meal it was only a couple of minutes before it was rectified. We were asked a second time to pay the bill when the bill had already been paid a couple of minutes earlier. That said the staff were very pleasant and engaging and the food was excellent. Whilst they do accept walk ins I would strongly suggest that a table is pre booked.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe had a lovely meal yesterday evening - can especially recommend the fillet steak and cheeseboard. Overall the bill was pricey for us at just under £200 for 4 people including starters and dessert - but the quality and quantity (plenty but not ridiculous) of everything was we feel reflected fairly in the price that we paid. Would not hesitate to go back on our next visit to the area.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLovely meal as always .. the best Italian in town .. great staff and atmosphere
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleAs vegetarians we were delighted to find a vegan restaurant in Keswick, and even more delighted to find that it was an excellent vegan restaurant. Our meals were imaginative and delicious and it felt so much more of a treat than having to put up with the usual veggie fare in mainstream venues. Wonderful cooking and a friendly personal service. What's not to like?
Plant by Kat’s Kitchen – KeswickHad lunch here yesterday. Very welcoming, great food and even better service. Will definitely be back
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAnother fantastic meal and great staff very attentive still great priced
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe went for lunch and the place was so quaint, just the way we like it, the staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. I had the steak pie and the portion I had was so filling and tasty. My wife had scampi and again large portion and very tasty. It's dog friendly as well in the bar area again just the way we like things. Overall a great experience and would recommend a visit if your in the Kewsick area.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickLovely wholesome and well cooked food in a traditional Lakeland pub. Such a shame that the service was rushed, rude, abrupt and unwelcoming. I have also rarely seen a filthier carpet. The service, decor and cleanliness need huge focus in order to match the quality of the food. Everything felt tired and worn; thank goodness the food was good quality. Also, the only time I have ever eaten out in 30 years to not be able to order a starter due to staff shortage
Pheasant Inn – KeswickSpent a pleasant evening and had a great meal. Helpful staff and quick service.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLovely prompt friendly service and felt very welcoming especially with our dogs Nice lunch too
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeTables too close together, waitress could barely get through to the corner table. Would be nice to be shown to our table instead of being pointed out from behind the bar. Too much gossiping behind the bar. Food ok, needs some seasoning. Would have liked a dessert but because of the above we just didnt enjoy the experience. Our waitress was efficient and professional.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereDinner for my wife’s birthday - on a Wednesday so it was fairly quiet. Food was superb - 3 courses & drinks & tip circa £100. Worth every penny. Service friendly but not intrusive. I have a food intolerance to onion - no problem for this chef - he adapted dishes to work for me. Honestly couldn’t fault it.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithDinner for my wife’s birthday - on a Wednesday in October so it was fairly quiet. Food was superb - 3 courses & drinks & tip circa £100. Worth every penny.
