We always book dinner here when we're visiting Keswick and are never disappointed. The food is delicious, with some excellent local options. Nice range of wine and beers available. The service was quick without feeling rushed and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. We will be back next time we're in town!

Pheasant Inn – KeswickEach time we visit the food just gets better and better. The menu is varied and interesting but the Specials are even better. Last night we had the mackerel pate and the soup to start, both of which were delicious but the star of the show was our duck breast with plums, root veg, rosti and jus which was absolutely fantastic and worthy of a top restaurant. The Horse & Farrier have upped their game again and aside from the first class food, the service is great, always with a smile and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We can’t wait to be back soon!
Horse and Farrier – PenrithI booked a table for ten people for my wife’s birthday last night (Sat) and, as ever, the staff and service was superb. Matched perfectly by the quality of the food we had to eat. Everyone in the party were extremely happy with what they had ordered and duly scoffed. Having eaten here a few times, the two of us knew everyone was in for a treat, but I was a little apprehensive about how they would manage with such a large order … I needn’t have worried as everything came out on time, piping hot and delicious. Cheers guys and thank you for making her birthday a great one.

Horse and Farrier – PenrithWhile my husband enjoyed his fillet steak I had a few issues with my meal. The lamb rump was good but the sauce was far to strong and very salty . To be fair the waiter did offer to have another meal prepared by which time my husband would have finished his meal. The seasonal veg were rather boring, undercooked carrots and over cooked cauliflower and broccoli. The veg and fondant potato did not taste freshly cooked. Staff and ambience good.

There was a really wide menu and the four of us all had different meals and every one of them was delicious. Great puddings too! This is a real gem of a pub in Keswick and is very highly recommended.
