Great atmosphere, very attentive staff, food was fabulous, will definitely come back.

Our first meal in the Hope & Anchor and it didn’t disappoint! i had the cheese and onion pie which was amazing! my wife went for the gammon which was equally as good. Service and atmosphere was really good so we are already planning our next trip!

If you are looking for somewhere to go in Penrith for a delicious meal, Grants of Castlegate is the place to try. Always a very warm welcome with beautifully cooked and very tasty food. Well worth a try.

We had a lovely meal i n the Hope and Anchors restaurant. The team were busy with a large party but suggested we order our food then retire to the garden with a drink, for them to call us when our meal was ready - and this is exactly what they did. The meal was tasty, hot and well presented. The staff were very friendly and efficient and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The service was great. The meal was excellent value for money

Great food, friendly staff, good choice on menu

13th August. Enjoyed a lovely dinner for three. The starters and main courses were very thoughtfully put together. There were unusual and lovely combinations of flavours. Loved the heritage beetroot salad starter. Our son who is a real foodie was very impressed. Beer very good as well (fine local craft ales). Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. We'll be back

Excellent meal, delicious flavours and presentation amazing

Beautifully cooked, tasty and interesting food served with friendly discretion. Lots of choice for meat eaters and delicious vegetarian options available. A real gastronomic treat.

This was a great find on our recent holiday to Grasmere. The food was excellent quality and there was a lovely choice of dishes - sadly we went on our last night so we will have to wait until our next visit to try other items. Service was very friendly and helpful and the chef even came and gave our dog a bowlful of leftover ham which he was obviously delighted by! We will definitely visit again and can highly recommend.

What a lovely meal we had at Sage and Vine. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was attentive and courteous. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will visit again when next in the area.

We had a very pleasent meal in the Pheasant in. Beef and Pork with all the trimmings brilliantly cooked. Very nice enviroment with nice people and more than a few dogs. We enjoyed ourselves no end.

Excellent food, generous portion and well cooked. Seemed to be freshly prepared. Staff friendly and welcoming. An obvious must is to prebook, don't try to turn and find a table available especially during holiday times. Only downside is typical of Robinson brewery pubs is the lack of choice when it comes to ales.

once or twice per year myself and friends,go to Carlisle racecourse,and stay the night . we have done so for several years and always go to la mezzaluna,where the service and food is first class.

What a fabulous place to stop for a pint or something to eat. We spent a lovely evening in this cosy, welcoming pub last week. (5th Aug) The food was superb, really well presented with excellent ingredients. Our 2 dogs were very welcome and the staff could not have been nicer. Highly recommend this place as a great stop off while visiting the Lake District. We will most definitely return. Thanks to all of the team there.
