Pig and Whistle – CartmelLovely welcome, great food and service. Welcoming to dogs.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickEvening meal here prior to going to the local Theatre by the Lake. Thoroughly enjoyable all round. Excellent service and my Mushroom / Brie / Cranberry and Walnut Wellington was absolutely delightful. Only the busy roadside parking lets the side down a bit. The staff are attentive but not in the least pushy. 10/10
Pheasant Inn – KeswickReally nice pub with great food and hosts. Well worth a visit if you are in Keswick.

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe always go to the Pheasant. Lovely food and great service. We always enjoy the great atmosphere and helpful friendly staff. We will be back again. Well done to everyone who made our evening special. Delicious apple and gooseberry crumble. A great menu too and I really like the beef pie although last night I had the beef curry. Delicious.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAlways book an evening, or two here when staying in the Lakes. Really first class food and atmosphere, would easily surpass some high end restaurants. The best kept secret in Grasmere.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent food and service cannot fault this place. Great portions and tasty food at reasonable prices. Service was brilliant quick and friendly.
Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleFantastic food, staff, atmosphere and value for money. Would definitely recommend coming here for a meal. Will be back before the end of our holiday for another meal to try something different because there are so many delicious things on the menu. We were a party of 5, and had 4 different mains and 5 different desserts. Everything homemade, beautifully presented and nothing was left on our plates/ bowls. Good size portions too.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickFood delicious. Service spot on. Such a lovely atmosphere. Very enjoyable. Both had the King Prawn curry and it was excellent.
Goody Blake’s – GrasmereThoroughly enjoyed our meals last Friday evening. This was our second visit. There is a great choice of dishes cooked to perfection. Staff friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend
Goody Blake’s – GrasmereWe, two couples (Smallwood and Ryder), booked for two nights The Wheatsheaf and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Two very pleasant and clean rooms, with super bathrooms, which appeared fairly newly decorated. Terrific showers. We had breakfast on each of the two mornings, plus evening meals. The food was excellent on all accounts. They catered very well for my wife who has to have a strict Gluten and Nut free diet, which again the staff, 'Callum' and 'Lucy' we very thorough and attentive to my wife's requirements. Both Callum and Lucy were so friendly and made pleasant conversation from the minute we walked through the door ! Also a shout out to a new member of staff 'Flora', (I believe was her name). So nice to be served with a smile from a polite young lady. We will definitely return to The Wheatsheaf Inn ! Thank you to all.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe had an absolutely fabulous dinner and the food was delicious. My mother and I were also grateful for the accommodation of our eating restrictions and the clear communication on what accommodations were possible.
