A 12 member university reunion group had a superb meal at Baileys. Each meal was extremely good and beautifully presented. The service was excellent, not rushed but not slow. We were in a room upstairs which was airy and spacious. The wine was also very good. Being a large group we had preordered several weeks before - everything was great.

Tried most places in Glossop now after not living here long. This is by far the best place to eat. The chef/s are obviously passionate about what they do! The bar/wait staff are absolutely incredible, very attentive, very friendly and always welcoming. My wife and I Absolutely love this place. Try it, you’ll see what I mean!

We had another wonderful meal on Father's Day. Food was fantastic, fabulous quality and plenty of it! Staff were all very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. Big shout out to Nadia who really looked after all 8 of us (plus a baby in a highchair!). Prices are a little higher than some other places but the quality is top notch and I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. Never had a disappointing meal at The Two Hares, simply delicious!!

I was treated to a Father’s Day Sunday Roast after a visit to the gardens. The whole experience was wonderful. The gardens are a hidden gem in North Derbyshire and I’m amazed they don’t receive more attention. The volume of the Yew hedges and corner pyramids that create the various garden rooms are immense. The individual planting schemes are elegant and the surrounding woodland walks are enchanting. The food was delicious, generous and very good value for money, with a choice of chicken, pork or beef - or a combination. I had the beef which was beautifully succulent. The service was first class and the staff were polite and engaging. How nice to see service with a smile! It was a wonderful treat and I would heartily recommend a visit. Thank you.

From the minute we walk in we're greeted by exceptional and accommodating staff. I was able to adapt my meal without fuss, and the food excellent. Padron peppers make me feel like I'm abroad and fish and chips amazing.

We had a lovely tour of the vineyard with a very informative talk by the owner. The booking information mentioned it being cold in the cellars, but we never actually left the vineyard, so not sure if that's a misprint. There seemed to have been a bit of confusion when it came to the afternoon tea. We had a voucher for deluxe afternoon tea for two, which offered a savoury option. The voucher said to enter the code when booking online, but there was no place to do that. So, we emailed and had a response confirming our booking at 2pm. We were seated and brought a pot of tea, and waited for someone to come and check which afternoon tea we wanted. Instead, two traditional afternoon teas were brought out. We queried this and the waitress said we needed to specify savoury in the box for special requirements and allergies when booking online. As we had not booked online due to not being able to enter our voucher, this didn't happen. I also don't think we would have thought to specify a menu choice in a box for special requirement and allergies. Across the catering industry I've never seen such a box used to make a choice from a menu. It is used to request a specific seating area, make people aware of accessibility needs, or inform the staff of allergies. The sweet selection for the afternoon tea was very nice, but the savoury really let it down. All the sandwiches were plain cheese, beef, or wafer thin ham, on just buttered bread. No sauce such as horseradish. A bit of a step down from the smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumber, or truffled egg mayonnaise and cress advertised. The mini scotch eggs, mini pork pies, and sausage rolls were clearly supermarket buffet selections, and very low quality. The voucher also included a glass of Renishaw Hall wine. We mentioned this and someone returned with a glass of sparkling wine, rather than offering us a choice. Having just tasted the Renishaw sparkling wine on the tour, we could tell that wasn't what was in our glasses. Like most people, we found there was too much too eat, so we asked if what was left could be boxed for us. From previous experience of afternoon teas, we expected someone to take the food away and return with it in a box. Instead, a waitress gave us a handful of paper bags and said "sorry, we don't have any boxes." Overall, the staff were very nice, and a lady from the kitchen was particularly helpful in trying to resolve the mix up over not having a savoury version for us. The grounds and building are lovely and in a picturesque setting. I'm not one for leaving negative reviews, but we did leave feeling we didn't receive what was promised and hope pointing out this experience will help the management to address these issues.
