Came for a Birthday meal. Great food and good service - it was also quite busy for a Monday night. But my sons face when the place started singing Happy Birthday... Priceless!! : )

We had a lovely evening, good friends with lovely food, extremely cheerful and attentive waitress who was always happy to help. Couldn't fault anything.

Had a delicious lunch at the Castle. Yorkshire puddings were exceptional- crispy roast potatoes. Some of the veg was slightly al dente, but a minor niggle. Lovely atmosphere & staff & service were great.

We had Sunday lunch for the family. Really enjoyed it and felt well looked after. Mains were hearty and tasty (the roast potatoes were the only aspect that was slightly disappointing). Desserts were restaurant quality. Service was excellent. Good value. Just a really nice pub.

A fantastic village pub. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Drinks and meals served promptly . Food was very tasty and good value for money.

We had the most wonderful experience at The Hourglass Pub on the evening of our wedding, Wednesday 4th March. There were 16 of us celebrating together, and the entire evening was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The staff were incredible — warm, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping us celebrate such a special day. The service was flawless all evening. Even with a group of 16, everything ran smoothly and we felt completely looked after. The food was phenomenal. Every dish that came out was beautifully prepared and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone at the table. It really added something special to our wedding evening. We had reserved a private room (which we paid a deposit for), and having that space to ourselves made the night feel even more personal and relaxed. The team were also wonderfully accommodating — when we ran a quiz for our guests, they kindly provided extra lights so everyone could see properly, which was such a thoughtful touch and really appreciated. Nothing felt like too much trouble for them, and their attention to detail helped make the evening feel truly memorable. Thank you to everyone at The Hourglass for helping make our wedding evening so special. We’ll always remember it and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food, fantastic service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Excellent food and service, a late Birthday treat but worth waiting for. Will definitely be back again.

Second time we have been here to eat both times its been fabulous We had a selection of 10 dishes between two of us ,which was a little bit to much but we really wanted to try everything on the menu. We loved every dish and were completely stuffed I do agree about the steps down being rather off putting and my husband wasn't impressed with the toilet but we will still return when.we return to Plymouth. Last time we went it was lunchtime and the views are fantastic.

We, the family and I, were very impressed with Maritimo Wine & Tapas. Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent food, good service and a pleasant atmosphere. Will certainly eat here again.
