Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonExcellent food and friendly staff, not too busy which is a bonus. Can't wait to go back again !
Red Alligator – Bishop AucklandAmazing food, lovely restaurant. Stayed overnight at The Morritt Hotel and booked in for an evening meal. Had a hectic few weeks and needed someone to chill out. This turned out to be the perfect place.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleVery friendly and efficient staff and lovely food to match , was our first time there and we hope to go again soon . Thank you .
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamAfternoon tea was lovely. The sandwiches and cakes were well-presented and delicious. Another couple were eating at the same time but the restaurant didn’t have any atmosphere. You could hear people checking in at reception and staff chatting. Maybe some music would help? Staff were wandering through the restaurant saying they were starving, organising cover for their break. They took chairs from the restaurant to sit in the adjoining room and eat their food. It felt a little unprofessional. We all enjoyed the food but probably wouldn’t rush back.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleWent on Sunday and had standard carvery. Meal was lovely and piping hot. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning
Red Alligator – Bishop AucklandFantastic food, excellent service and lovely atmosphere.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamWow. I couldn’t believe how good the food was. A huge creamy portion of salmon linguine with perfectly Al dente courgette followed by a unique spiced rice pudding with poached pear, crumble and edible flowers. The staff were lovely and the Dining room was beautiful with a cosy mix of country style and formal dining room.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleAs always a lovely time was had. Good portions and good value, attentive but not intrusive service and good company. We’ll be back!
The Farmers Arms – DurhamWe had a wonderful time with my mam! Staff been so kind, food for our afternoon tea was amazing, the place was absolutely gorgeous and the spa so relaxing! Thank you for this lovely moment! :)
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonGood food, lousy service. We were waiting 75minutes for our main course. No one came over to the table in that time. Not planning on a return any time soon. Such a shame because the food was good when we finally got it, (which was only after approaching a member of staff and asking them).
The Farmers Arms – DurhamMe and my Husband had the spa package with 2x course meal and prosecco a birthday present off my daughter . Spa was lovely and relaxing, staff we very friendly. We had our meal in Gilroy s restaurant. Dawn who served us was very pleasant and friendly. I had piri piri chicken which was nice. My husband had smoked salmon linguine....he said it was very oily so didn't really enjoy it. The overall place was very nice.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleWow a HUGE meal!!! We had chicken burger and it was massive and so tasty - well worth a visit. Lovely staff and great service too - would highly recommend a visit! Our meal was delicious!
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamWow. What a surprise find. I booked the hotel to break a long journey home to Ireland. To be honest, I was only expecting pub grub. It was quiet night, so quiet atmosphere, which suits me, very friendly staff. The food was value for money, no complaints there. The food was excellent, so much so I actually photographed the menu for future reference. I would highly recommend, if you are staying at the hotel, book a table and enjoy. If you are not staying, it’s well worth a night out with fine dining. Staff
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleHad a 60 th party food was amazing and great service
The Farmers Arms – DurhamVery nice meal thank you, very attentive service and prompt delivery.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleGreat Italian food at a nice price point with friendly service
Pesto Italiano – DurhamA very homely and friendly pub on the outskirts of Durham. We’d pre-booked because it is a popular place. Seated and drinks order taken. We chose the 3 course for £10 and you get a very very good selection of starters, mains and sweets. We asked for our sweets to be boxed because from experience we knew we’d not be able to eat them with the meal. We had a lovely window seat and the 2 staff working the area came to check a number of times if everything was okay, which it was. Can highly recommend this pub.
