The Farmers Arms – DurhamLovely Sunday lunch yesterday, although a very long wait for dessert which arrived cold & without custard which we asked for, however they did bring a small jug out but it was barely warm. Seemed plenty of staff hanging around bar area chatting. Probably would go again & hopefully better service.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamWent for Sunday lunch excellent value for money 3 course for 20 Starter was nice garlic mushrooms I had beef dinner it was decent nothing too special but certainly did the job the gravy was lovley I had sticky toffee dessert really nice The place itself starting to look worn but still cosy
The Farmers Arms – DurhamWe visit here so often, but we booked a table for four and waited hours for our meals. 50 minutes between courses with no warning or update. The portion sizes were terrible. Starters were cold, so was the pasta. There was a group in that dominated the entire restaurant. The meal was okay, but had much better from here. Don't think we will be back. So sad, as we've had many happy meals from here.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamA warm welcoming atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend. Pan fried mushroom starter was delicious.
Pesto Italiano – DurhamFreshly made food which tasted delicious. Excellent service from walking through the door to leaving with all staff bring friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Well done Red Alligator team, you have got it perfect, see you very soon.
Red Alligator – Bishop AucklandVisited on a Saturday for lunch and had a lovely time. Great service, lovely drinks and beautiful food. Excellent value for money and importantly for us super dog friendly. Special mention for the chilli and garlic prawns and scotch egg.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamFood was lovely as always But we were booked in for 1300 and waited over an hour for meals to come had to ask 3 times when it would arrive
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamI came to the farmers about 6 weeks ago and was so impressed by the quality and amount of food I have been recommending it to everyone!! However I visited again on Sunday and was very disappointed- the quality was still excellent but very poor amounts - we were still hungry. In addition we paid for a regular dinner which had 2 slices of meat and we paid extra for 2 meals with 2 types of meat but it was still only 2 slices - I therefore paid extra for them to cut meat from 2 joints rather than 1 ??? Not a good deal I am not sure what has changed but wouldn’t recommend it now - not value for money sadly !!!!
