Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamHotel lovely needs updating but very clean the restaurant fab fantastic food best coq a van best I’ve ever had service great breakfast fab good choice
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleFour of us had dinner on two consecutive evenings which we found most enjoyable in every respect. The service was friendly, positive and efficient: the menu offered a good choice of varied food styles and all courses were well prepared and presented. Truly in the best tradition of a coaching inn as it historically was.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleLovely carvery everything was perfect staff were great too decor is beautiful I would definitely recommend.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamHad a lovely meal yesterday each of us enjoyed it lovely fresh and would definitely going back & would recommend.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamDinner was ok - 'gourmet burger' looked like squashed mince and was a bit dry. The chicken was delicious. Asked for a candle but staff had no matches!? Not once did anyone ask if everything was ok/how our food was. Breakfast was very good, although the juices were empty and the coffee machine was not working so had to make do with instant coffee.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonFabulous visit as always. Staff friendly, food lovely and of course was Friday Fizz. Thank you and see you again soon
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamThe staff were fantastic from start to finish. The starters were also very pleasant and left us happily anticipating the main courses. My sons enjoyed their pizza and burger. My steak was well-cooked but unfortunately the sear had a very acrid, bitter taste to it. The desserts were tasty, although had to send one of the fondants back as it was fully cooked through - they did replace this and it was nice enough. Overall it wasn't worth the price and I don't think I'd return, but it was alright, nothing special.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamLunch at 14.00hrs on Saturday , 20th May, 2023, was very accommodating and provided three perfect Fillet Steaks for three hungry visitors. The perfect Service was provided by all of the Staff that we met and Rhiann was a cheerful and chatty Waitress.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleVery disappointed. We have had three excellent meals at Gussto over the past year but this was really not up to standard. Mussels had to be sent back as they smelled off , food much smaller portions and much blander than before.
Gussto Tapas Bar – DurhamThoroughly enjoyed the meal, forced three courses down. We visited the Prego restaurant with 4 other friends 2 weeks previously and we all thoroughly enjoyed that meal as well.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamThe food was first class locally sourced and plenty of variety which was served by friendly staff.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleFood looked amazing and came around 45 minutes after ordering, so not too bad at all , my meal was the belly pork , was amazing! My mum had the garlic chicken with greens , thos was a bit disappointing, chicken was all bruised and didn't taste of garlic, she also couldn't eat the greens as they were raw , such a shame . When staff asked I did inform them of the hard greens and chicken , apologised but that's it, Staff were all so friendly and the lady with the blonde hair on reception was so so lovely, nothing was a problem , goes over and beyond to help you , just a lovely lovely woman ! On the other hand the breakfast was amazing ! Lots of choice and good quality, 10 out of 10 for breakfast !!! Yes as everyone stated the hotel rooms could do with a little upgrade as uts starting to look tired but we love the quaint feel and you have to understand this building is not brand new , I would stay again
Hall Garth Hotel – Darlington5 star
Derwent Manor Hotel – Durham5 of us had Sunday lunch, food was fab and great value for money, we love it here and have booked our wedding for October so can't wait to share the experience with our friends and family.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamHad an enjoyable Sunday lunch - quality of food good but thought expensive- £29.50 for two courses .
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleHad Breakfast Lunch and Dinner during our stay. Lunch Caeser Salad with Chicken & Bacon was lovely with plenty ingredients. Dinner delicious with Blackpudding Scotch egg as starter Cod as a main. Beautifully cooked and presented. Breakfast let them down both mornings. Very disapointing buffet first day was dry and over cooked as was second morning although made to order. Feature room very spacious but not 4 poster as advertised. Enjoyed our stay. Golf course well maintained, Spa staff very friendly and polite.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonBeen a couple of times now as have friends. I definitely recommend the Farmers Arms to others. Food is lovely staff are friendly and nobody can grumble at the price. It’s a place we’ll keep going back to. 5 star all round.
