Excellent service and beautiful food
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamFood was lovely, happy hour great value for money. Long wait for food though which is hard with kids. No kids menus and first waitress didn't know what was on it. Dessert came with ice cream instead of cream so when asked for the cream was told would be charged. Bill was produced wrong. Really cold inside also.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – Durhamabsolutely brilliant, great food made even better by great and entertaining staff, guys you have to meet Michelle and Kathy you couldn't wish for better service anywhere. Thanks for a relaxing enjoyable time.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleBeautiful food, lovely atmosphere and great service.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamFood was very hot ,very well presented and the customer service was very good ,there 3 for £10.00 menu was outstanding with lots of choices, this is my 3rd visit and it won't be my last .

The Farmers Arms – DurhamAnother excellent meal at Prego.Tasty food.Excellent and attentive staff
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamWe had an excellent meal at Gilroy's restaurant at the Morrit Hotel. There was a great choice of items - the salmon was excellent, as was the venison. Desserts were also very good, and very generous portions. The staff were particularly good, very friendly and very professional too, Cathy, Raeanne and Hannah, just the best.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleWe stayed at The Morritt Hotel for 4 nights. We had a very comfortable and spacious room. The breakfasts were nice and the evening meals extremely good. All staff friendly and helpful.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleWe have visited this restaurant on a number of occasions now. Food has always been great. Visited recently and the food just wasn’t the same or as good unfortunately. Don’t know if the chef has changed but the experience was disappointing.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamA fairly decent sized chicken bone found in starter should have at least received some acknowledgement from the chef when reported - this cut the roof of my husband's mouth. Food overall was pleasant. Children's menu basic but we were offered as originally enquired a small portion of Sunday Lunch - never was there any mention of a substantial increase in price for this option. The matter was resolved with management on payment of the bill. Desert of Rubarb Tart with Creme Anglaise was more Rubarb Crumble and Custard - a bit disappointed! Staff were welcoming and friendly although as a part Christmas gift and an awaited visit it failed to live up to expectations.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleLovely dining room which reminded me of other Country House hotels. Only a couple of blemishes on a really nice meal. Dead flowers on the table and in the other vases around the room which seemed silly when there are so many daffodils waiting in the garden to be used. A lemon squeezer would have been helpful too as squeezing was a messy task over my salmon steak. Staff tried hard to satisfy and were appreciated, but a Maitre D was missing when customers entered the dining room to guide everyone to a suitable table. Overall a lovely meal spoiled by a couple of blemishes. Thanks to the staff for trying so hard.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleHave thoroughly enjoyed 2 nights dinner from the table d’hote menu and the a la carte. Lovely friendly and efficient staff. My only negative comment would be that the soup wasn’t very hot. Should have asked them to heat it up
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamSunday lunch was very tasty but on the small side, could do with extra mash and roast potatoes. Yorkshire puds were tad crispy but went down well once in the tasty gravy. Lots of lean topside beef, my partner had pork which was also ample. Lots of space even though there were people in there. Interesting surroundings. Nice outside area for kids and doggies . Think the desserts are over priced so didn’t bother
The Farmers Arms – DurhamMost of the food was really good. Unfortunately the gluten free pizza was overcooked. However, it was dealt with straight away and staff were really helpful and removed it from the bill.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamExcellent afternoon tea and friendly staff
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleFood was really nice, plenty to choose from off the menu. Could not fault the service, friendly and attentive staff.
