Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamHad a meal here last night. Fab food. Presented well, and hot. Friendly waitresses and lovely atmosphere.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamFood was good but the service was a bit of a hit and a miss ...nothing too bad but not smooth as it should have been...Staff were pleasant but as said before a bit flaky
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleVisited for the 3 course for £10 and it did not disappoint, food was delicious and I was so full by the end! Would definitely recommend the pâté starter and the chicken burger! Lovely environment and staff are very polite too.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamWe had a 2 course lunch and it was delicious. The staff are very friendly. We had a lovely stay for 1 night. Breakfast next morning was really good. We will definitely return. Thank you
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonWe had sunday lunch here and it was lovely, food was nice and good quality. staff were also very good and attentive. would recommend
The Farmers Arms – DurhamThe Sunday Roast was amazing. Incredibly friendly staff as well.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleThis place is one of my faves! Nice, spaced out tables in a lovely country style pub setting. They have outstanding prices, definitely on Tuesday & Wed, 3 courses for £10, unbeatable! Their leek & potato soup is the best I’ve ever had, Parmo is nice, not massive but enough and fab home made chips. And the sticky toffee pudding is to die for. Definitely be going back as the service is great too.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamDisappointed is an understatement. We had a reservation, table for 6, had to wait for over half an hour as the staff told us they had let ‘walk ins’ use all of the tables. 3 of the meals were mixed grills costing £25 each, all of the meat products were burnt despite asking how we would like the steak. They forgot the onion rings and brought them out later. Lasagne was very dry and burnt. Salmon teriyaki was very bland. Fish and chips were nice. Won’t eat here again.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamOur food and rosé sangria was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely and we had a fabulous evening. However, we ordered a lot of dishes thinking they’d be brought out as and when they were ready (which is something we’ve experienced at tapas restaurants before), but all the dishes were brought together. This would’ve been fine but some were piping hot and others were barely warm. Also, there was an unusually long time between sitting and ordering drinks, and again before ordering food. Would go again, but would bear this info in mind.
Gussto Tapas Bar – DurhamVisited today with family for a Sunday lunch, the service was quick and the food delicious. Was stuffed when we finished, i couldn’t have eaten anything else. I had the beef and it was delicious.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamLovely food, great portion sizes. Great value for money. Will be back!
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamVisited for the 3 courses for £10 offer. Whilst the menu is limited If you discount the options you pay more for, there's enough for a good midweek meal out. Food was excellent, beer was good with excellent service. Will be back
The Farmers Arms – DurhamJust returned from this lovely friendly hotel. Staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble. We met Michelle shortly before her shift whilst out walking and mentioned to her if she could recommend were to go in the area and when we saw her again at dinner she had sourced leaflets of interest for us. We were even asked by a lady at breakfast if we should like our flask filling for our journey home as it was starting to snow which I found very thoughtful ( unfortunately we didn’t have our flask with us) Food of high standard and locally sourced. We upgraded our room at a small cost as the classic room was a little small for our liking. The Garage Spa is so relaxing I highly recommend the Dry Floatation and deep tissue massage I felt rejuvenated afterwards and all well worth the money. Would definitely return.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleLove eating here - happy hour is such good value - staff friendly - family’s fave place to Eat
